1909 in Dublin

Saturday hot evening. We sat down with friends inside but we didn't get the menu cards. Due to the location of our table visible in the photo, we reached for them ourselves. Free sparkling water to choose from with table water, a plus. The food was delicious, I ordered 🥩 and the others burgers and seafood. Another situation occurred with the dessert which had to be sent back because it did not have the ingredients from the description, such as strawberries. Overall, the restaurant is a plus, only this beginning and end, hence 4 stars

Don't expect more than good honest home cooking here. We loved the staff (thank you Justin for the lovely service and chats).

The prawn toast was to be nice with extra prawns I am lactose intolerance, so they catered for all my needs, which made me feel great. Quite when we were there but this helped so early Sunday evening dinning. Lamb shank fell off the bone, which was lovely. Staff who served us he was a gent. Keep him knows what they are doing. Yes, go back again

Had a lovely meal in 1909 last night with my husband. We were celebrating my birthday and everyone was so friendly. I felt totally spoilt. Food was excellent. We shared a starter and I had the fillet steak for my main course. My husband had the salmon. We shared a lovely cheesecake for desert. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented. Thanks 1909 for a great night!

A nice place in beautiful Dalkey, the food was good but could be more special. I liked the vegan tofu steak but the pork was not a special dish.

One of the best meals I've ever had! Ordered salmon and mash. We had a lovely waiter too.

Somewhat disappointing. A fillet steak is never a cheap option on a menu, but expect perfection and it was kind bland. I ordered a mushroom sauce on the side but was given brandy peppercorn. While it was good, it wasn't what I wanted. No one checked on us while we ate for me to even notify staff, and no one even made eye contact for me to flag them down. I had to just stick with it anyway since the steak would have gotten cold. I think the place is nice, but price point vs what you get might leave you feeling like it's not worth it.

Have visited a number of times over the years. Great Restaurant

I was waiting for the airbus after a long weekend with a friend who went to school in Dalkey but lives in the States now. He chose 1909 for a lunch and oh my what a find. It was the run up to Christmas and the restaurant was full of warmth and laughter - I had the salmon which was succulent and flavourful . The ladies on the next table were obviously regulars and were treated like family by the lovely host I also had desert and coffee and very nearly missed my coach Thoroughly fitting way to end a magical weekend Would return in a heartbeat
