Amazing flavours, the seared scallops and cheesecake were our favourites. It's a lively cozy little place, we were sitting at the bar so got to see the action in the kitchen.

Lovely little spot. Food was great. Our food was served one plate at a time and so we were sharing. Did they just correctly guess that we were a couple and that we didn’t mind sharing? The two ladies beside us were served a plate each everytime. Anyhow, overall we enjoyed the evening there.

An outstanding food experience. Delicious small plates executed to an extremely high level. My only complaint is that the service was ridiculously rushed to the point that we had to ask that service be slowed down as we had barely one bite in our mouth before the next dish had been brought out. Thankfully they obliged however we were still rushed out the door before finishing our bottle of wine. Despite the rushed service, the food was flawless. Highlights for me were the Hispi Cabbage and Torched Scallops.

I rarely write negative reviews, but this comes from a place of disappointment rather than hate. My friend and I were excited to try this restaurant, but we left feeling that the food was overpriced for what we got. The scallops were outstanding—one of the best bites I’ve had in Dublin—but the strip-loin steak was incredibly tough, comparable to Lidl quality, and shockingly priced at €23 for just four small pieces. The atmosphere was cool, but the kitchen smell lingered on my clothes for three days. The pacing felt rushed, with multiple dishes arriving at once, and we were completely done—from snacks to dessert—in just 40 minutes. The staff were impersonal, speeding through explanations with no engagement. To top it off, both my friend and I felt unwell for the next two days with stomach issues—this was the only place we had eaten together. We paid over €150 for two and left disappointed.

The Amy Austin experience is just unreal, starting with the staff who are extremely professional and friendly, explaining with detail the ingredients of every dish, the food was absolutely sensational, unlike any other we’ve had in Dublin to this day. The chefs and the floor staff seem to work in perfect harmony and that reflects on the overall service. Our new favourite spot in town hands down.

The experience was incredible! The food was delicious—Ibérico pork cheek and cabbage were my favorites. The staff provided excellent service, and their wine recommendation was spot on. Highly recommended!

I spent a long time going to the Asian shop on the same street, always glancing at this place and thinking, I need to book it! Hahaha. So naturally, I built up high expectations—which is never a good thing! But honestly, my experience was incredible. From the very beginning, the staff set the tone. Donavon (apologies if I got the name wrong—I really wanted to give credit, so I checked the receipt) was fantastic. Truly, well done! The kitchen team was also incredibly attentive, which I absolutely loved. Now, onto the most important part—the food. It’s been a while since I left a restaurant feeling genuinely happy. Dublin’s restaurant scene has been growing rapidly, but it’s rare to walk out truly excited. So, huge congratulations, because this time, I did! A special shoutout to the Beef Cheeks and the mind-blowing cheesecake. When I saw it on the menu, I thought, Oh great, another boring chef’s dessert. But the moment I took a bite of that cheesecake base, I swear I heard music! It was perfect—the acidity from the lemon, my god! I could eat a giant bowl of it and die happy. Hahahaha. So, I just want to say a massive thank you for this incredible experience. Wishing you all the best, and congratulations on the amazing work!

We got luckily a seats without booking on friday night and it was packed. The service was smooth and fast and the waiters very acknowledgable! The food was stunning , from mushroom tartlettes,( comes by 2) the scallops with green apple reduction ( comes by 2), the so tender pig cheek ( only 1), the prawns in 5 spices (2 prawns), the Argentinian Steak ( 4 little slices) and the lemon and pistachios cheesecake… it is pricey thought 150€ for 2 peoples with an “Orange” carafe wine but you won’t get that quality food everywhere! Congratulations to the Cheffs!

Laurel Restaurant

18/03/2025: The food was excellent, very high quality from start to end. The bread was noticeably good, always a nice sign. Great wines by the glass. Excellent service - very friendly and attentive. Will definitely return - very high end food in a nice atmosphere. We went for dinner very early, at 17.45, but the place was really filling up as we were leaving.
14/03/2025: Although "Laurel" has been open for nearly two years, this was our first visit. Located just above "Kelly & Cooper" in Blackrock Village, we went based on a trusted friend's recommendation, and once again, he steered us right. The special three-course menu for €45 was an absolute delight. From the tempting selection of four starters, we both opted for the seared scallops with pea arancini, pea butter, and pancetta—simply delicious. For mains, I had the pan-fried halibut, while my wife enjoyed the slow-roasted beef. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. To finish, we chose petit fours with coffee from the five available dessert options—a perfect ending to a fantastic meal. This special menu is available on Wednesday and Thursday nights, making it an excellent midweek treat. While the restaurant was relatively quiet (seating around 30, with 15 diners that evening), the atmosphere remained warm and inviting. The sole staff member attending to us was incredibly attentive, offering excellent service with a smile throughout the evening. The two chefs working in the open kitchen showcased impressive skill, creativity, and attention to detail in every dish. We highly recommend "Laurel" and will definitely be returning soon
