Really nice garden centre and cafe, with a series of charming interconnected gardens to walk through behind the garden centre. Prices are better than in garden centres closer to Dublin and the new pavilion means all of the plants are under cover. Cafe closes at 5.30 and centre at 6

Have nothing but positive things to say about the Arboretum Kilquade. Erica helped me find pots and plants for them whilst I had a pram she was extremely informative about everything, she was patient, and even brought everything out to the car and packed the car for me. Amazing customer service. Thank you again Erica. They also have a fabulous restaurant.

Very nice place and super plants and flowers available to buy. I was particularly taken by the scent of a Jasmin plant en route to the eating section, as Dirty Harry would say, that scent - made my day, I doubt Harry would have even noticed it

Fantastic garden centre, especially since they're renovated the entire place, most of it is now indoors and is very well laid out. Their range and stock is great as the seasons change. I'm personally always happy to see garden centres with a Bonsai section, but I'd like to see more and with better care guides. Apart from plants, they now stock a huge amount of garden ware, furniture, decorations, and a clothing section too. Lots of crystals (polished and raw) with handy guides on each, organic soaps, toiletries, and food too. All the photos are of plants bought here over recent months. Would highly recommend the Arboretum Kilquade to even those just slightly interested in gardening!

An amazing garden centre with all types of plants and trees, indoor plants, garden furniture and home wares. And as a great bonus they also have a cafe and show gardens. Gotta love garden centres with show gardens to give inspiration! One of the largest garden centres I know of, superseded only by Tully Nurseries (but that's wholesale level huge and way up North). Very friendly, helpful staff. Prices are pretty average to high, never cheap but quality is consistently good. The trees are packed in where they are and so they can be skinny and suffering if they've been there for a while. It would be great if Arboretum honoured its name more and expanded their tree section to include more sizes and ages of trees and more varieties. Yes, they have trees rarely seen in nurseries like walnut and almond, but if they don't ever get sold, reduce the price and give them a more prominent spot so they get seen! I feel a lot of unsold trees die a sad and lonely death in the back there.

Good garden centre although a little pricey. It has a nice coffee shop attached and also the gardens which form the National garden exhibition centre.

Moone High Cross Inn

01/07/2025: Lovely afternoon yesterday. Food Lovely 😍
28/04/2025: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Moone High Cross Inn — A Legendary Pub in the Heart of Kildare's History If you're looking for a real, no-nonsense Irish pub experience, the Moone High Cross Inn is an absolute must. Tucked into one of the most historic corners of Kildare — and Ireland itself — this small but mighty pub punches way above its weight. Always a cracking night out here: one minute you could be in the middle of a rock gig, the next you're swept into a trad session you’ll remember for years. That's the magic of this place — you never quite know what you'll walk into, but it’s always good craic. They used to serve food (and it was great), which sadly seems to be on pause for now — hopefully it makes a comeback, because the atmosphere deserves it. Whether you're local or just passing through, Moone High Cross Inn is well worth the detour. A true gem of Irish pub culture — you’ll leave with a smile, a story, and maybe a new favorite song.

Misunderstood Heron

08/08/2025: Nice tasty vegetarian options with sauna out tge front.
01/08/2025: What a wonderful experience! The pork I ordered was just perfect; the really large portion cooked just how I like it. My partner had the carrots. I tasted one (or 2 or 3) and they were delicious. A lively spot with an incredible view and friendly, obliging staff. I'll be back one day!
