The staff were lovely, but the cafe seemed understaffed with only two people working during a rush. Note that there’s no customer toilet on-site. As for the food, my toastie could have been toasted a bit longer, but overall it’s a really nice spot. The coffee is tasty—perfect for a quick caffeine fix and a pastry! And it's dog friendly!

Bagels alone get the Five stars. Having lived in the NYC love a good Bagel and we now have some decent bagels however these are in a different league! Fantastic. So far i’ve had the multi seed and the cheese and Jalapeño bagel . Also have bought on Bath avenue and equally as good. True find.

If you’re looking for the true heartbeat of Sandymount in the morning, look no further than Artybaker. I pass by this shop almost every single day during the school run, and around 9:00 AM, the place is buzzing with energy. It’s the go-to morning ritual for local parents who drop off their kids and immediately head here for their caffeine fix and a fresh pastry.
The quality of their baking is genuinely outstanding. Everything is baked fresh, and you can smell the butter and toasted flour from down the street. My absolute favorites—and what I’d consider their 'must-tries'—are the Ham & Cheese Croissant and the Honey & Sea Salt Croissant. The lamination on their pastry is perfection; it’s incredibly flaky on the outside while remaining soft and airy inside. If you have a sweet tooth, their Cinnamon Bun is another winner that never disappoints.
But Artybaker isn't just for the morning rush. If you stop by around lunchtime, they offer a great selection of sandwiches and bagels where you can choose your own fillings, making it a perfect spot for a quick but high-quality mid-day meal. And of course, the coffee here is top-tier—consistently well-made and the perfect companion to any of their treats.
Pro-tip from a local: If the weather is playing nice, don’t just eat inside. Take your coffee and pastries for a short walk over to Sandymount Green. Sitting on a bench there with an Artybaker croissant in hand is one of the simplest and best pleasures of living in this area. It’s a neighborhood gem that consistently delivers on both quality and atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone passing through D4!

Probably the best pastry in Ireland. Try to arrive before 11am to get the full range of items, but even at 2pm they still had lots of options. They have the classics (croissants, pain au chocolate, pain Suisse, etc.), as well as unique creations (like a honey sea salt croissant). The bagels are excellent - not too far from real NYC bagels!
The matcha, chai latte, and hot chocolate were also exceptionally good.
They sometimes have soft serve ice cream (with bits of croissant in it!).
The toasties take a surprisingly long time to be ready, and the bagel sandwiches can also take a while when it's busy - if you're in a hurry, better get some pastry or an empty bagel.

Coming from France, these are definitely the best croissants in Dublin (until I am proven otherwise ;)).
However, I am only putting 3 stars for 2 reasons:
They don't receive cash (money is money!)
And I tried their matcha, what a mistake! A very low quality matcha and very poorly prepared (they don't even have the matcha tools to make it). A real pity!

My girlfriend bought today two coffees and two pastries. Coffee was lovely and the almond croissant was the best I’ve tried. I’ll come back 100%
