The food itself is good, however the reception is not at all pleasant, the receptionist is rude, doesn't greet you with "good evening" and is quite impolite.

Great staff with special attention for the detail, amazing food with real “umaminess”, and nice atmosphere. Highly recommended, high quality food here…We will back someday for sure. Thank you, and keep on the good work.

Asador is a lovely restaurant with excellent food and a team that truly goes out of their way to make every guest feel welcome. The quality of the dishes is consistently high — fresh ingredients, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. It’s the kind of place where you can tell care and attention go into every plate. That said, prices have definitely gone up over time, and while the quality still matches, it’s becoming a bit on the expensive side for what used to feel more balanced. The space itself is quite compact, and when the restaurant gets busy — especially with large groups — it can get a little too noisy, which takes away some of the charm. Overall, Asador remains a great choice for those who appreciate top-quality food and friendly service in a central location, but it’s best enjoyed on a quieter evening when you can really savour the atmosphere.

We visited last week to try out Asador’s new sharing-style dinner menu. We started with a selection of sharing dishes — the prawns, arancini, and bread with honey dip — all of which were delicious. The prawns in particular were outstanding: the nicest, juiciest, and meatiest I’ve had in a long time. For our main, we ordered the steak which was very tasty. That said, I know steak tends to be expensive in general these days but I found the 8oz fillet a little pricey at €56, especially as it only comes with a handful of chips and a sauce, with sides charged separately. The overall bill for bread , 2 starters , 2 steak mains and 2 alcoholic drinks including a tip was €200 The restaurant has a lovely cosy atmosphere, great service, and a wonderful wine selection. I’d absolutely return — but next time, it’ll be for the sharing dishes (and definitely those prawns!).

Outstanding experience at Asador! An exceptional dining experience at Asador! We had dinner here and were impressed from start to finish. We shared several starters — the gambas and scallops were outstanding, the bacon bread and antipasto were simply incredible. The black sole was probably the best fish I’ve ever had, and the steak was perfectly cooked. Desserts were out of this world! The staff were warm, attentive, and did their best to accommodate us. The wine list is fantastic, and the cocktails are truly top-tier. A perfect spot for a memorable dinner — highly recommended.

Food was amazing. We walked in off the street at 4pm on a Friday and there was zero wait. Our group of 3 decided on tapas, and we were blown away.

The Villager

12/10/2025: An incredible pub, with a great atmosphere and live music. An oasis away from the center of Dublin, in the beautiful village of Chapelizod and next to the northern entrance to Phoenix Park. If I could, I would go there every day of my life to have a Guinness there.
10/10/2025: Lovely spot to sit outside and have a beer with a good heating to keep you warm on colder evenings. The inside is well looked after and there is a wine bar upstairs. Had two pints of IPA and they tasted fresh. Been here before and sat inside and ordered pizzas which were tasty
