Fantastic Bread and cheese options... pricey but gorgeous, lovely spacious store, plenty going on and lots of variety to enjoy for all ages.

The restaurant is consistently delicious and reasonably priced. Supermarket is also great but can be expensive.
2025 update. Prices have gone ridiculous now

Avoca always delivers good quality, tasty food. They also have wide choices.
However it comes at a ridiculous price. Their prices have slowly crept up over the past while. Yesterday 1 bowl of soup with a piece if bread was a whopping €9.95
A small slice of quiche with a spoonful each of 3 salads was totally overpriced at €19.95
For a family if 3 of us for a quick bite to eat at lunchtime including drinks, coffee and 2 pieces of cake was almost €90!!!
And yet the place is always busy. We Irish don't vote with our feet when it comes to prices. We just pay and suck it up.
But I do think these prices are way overboard
Later in Dublin City Centre for an evening meal, I had tasty plate of food for €14.
Avoca, you need to bring down your prices. This is too much!
The other ongoing observation is that the acoustics in the Rathcoole Avoca are exceptionally loud. It would be great if they would addres this. I don't know how the staff work in this noise polutuon but you couldn't describe the atmosphere as relaxing.

We went to the Birdcage restaurant in Avoca Rathcoole yesterday with our elderly relatives, who tend to be slow and indecisive as old people are, The staff were delightful - patient and helpful without being in any way patronising. Please tell them how much we appreciated their excellent service The food was excellent too!

Lovely products at this shop, & a nice cafe also sells clothes, the food stall is nice with very good quality products but the prices are outrageous as is the upstairs restaurant cafe verging on rib off prices

Avoca stores are a must. This one in Rathcoole is very nice, lively location and it's a big store distributed across ground and first floor.
The store sells a wide variety of products, from beauty products coming from several countries to clothing, like wool scarves from Avoca brand, all located on the ground floor.
Also, there's a wide food deli area with lots of groceries, drinks and freshly produced bread / cakes products of Avoca brand and several other specialities from all over the world, both fresh from the fridge and not. These products are not easy to find elsewhere.
Also, a dedicated are is dedicated to butchery products with fresh meat for meat lovers. Finally, there's a small area where food is cooked during lunch time.
The restaurant is on the first floor and offers a wide menu with vegetarian options, as well as a wide variety of soft drinks also fresh from the fridge.
A nice terrace is also available to enjoy a meal outside in a dobby day.
Both ground floor and first floor offer tea/coffes with plenty of pastries&scones freshly produced.
The only issue...it's a quite expensive store/restaurant.

Absolutely love this place. Food is so fresh and great choice of salads sandwiches etc. Always busy but because it is quite a big place you can usually find a seat.

One measly vegan option for cakes and coffee. So disappointing as there was a fabulous display of cakes and scones. I'm not gluten free but theses options als looked very limited/ non-existent. Do better.
