Avoca in Rathcoole

Update January 2025 Cleanliness standards slipping. Love stopping here for lunch anytime in the area. On Saturday 25th January we stopped there as usual. I had no clue what the guy behind the food counter was saying to me. (His first language was english) He had to repeat himself three times, and I had to get someone else to interpret. What he was trying to tell me was that the salmon would be served cold! I knew that, but he made no effort to convey that ease piece of unnecessary information. The food was delicious though. The restaurant was very unkempt, tables full of previous diners trays etc. One table had 8 used coffee cups which had to be moved by the next customers, and eventually another customer asked one of the staff to help. Another table had a significant amount of food on the floor underneath. There is a generation of workers out there now who don't understand that when things get busy (regardless of the business) YOU WORK FASTER. I don't blame the staff at that level, I blame whoever is supposed to be training them. It's not good enough for the Avoca Brand - you charge enough for your products, and sitting in a messy, unclean environment should not be the customer experience. --------------------------------- Previous review 2019. Fantastic well stocked luxury goods shop with excellent self service cafe upstairs. A little expensive, but for me a nice treat when I'm leaving Dublin or arriving from Cork. Love the healthy range of lunches as well as everything else. Easily accessible from the M7 motorway

Gorgeous food gifts and excellent service!

Visited 2 days before new year 's day between noon and one approx. The food hall was almost full. Most of the seating is hard uncomfortable chairs. The level of noise made it difficult to hear each other speak. Food is lovely and good quality but very expensive. Sale had started and store seemed to be doing a brisk trade.

Lovely lunch spot and amazing for gift shopping

Great selection of hot and cold food to sit in and enjoy or take away. The food prices are above average but the portions and taste make it worth the extra expense. The clothing and toy section is way overpriced though with a limited selection.

Delightful foodie options to buy to take home!

We had afternoon tea and coffee with very delicious cake. Roseberry cheese cake with brownie was soo tasty. The gift shop has plenty of good staff ( plates, cups, cloth, food, blanket.. )

We stopped off here for some lunch while visiting the castle and gardens. The service was prompt and there was a good selection of food and cakes to choose from. I went for the chicken salad sandwich which was delicious and a good size serving. The cost is average for this type of cafe so the prices were to be expected. Would definitively visit again.
