Over 20 years ago, I bought this vibrant woolen coat with hood from Avoca Handweavers, originally purchased from The Irish Store in Riveredge, NJ USA (long since closed) and have received bless use, joy, compliments and inspiration from the wonder fuchsia-pink-royal blue-green and purple hood and trim lining and separate scarf! It’s got a wide cut so it fits perfectly over my suits and fancy jackets when I go to work events and evenings on the town. This gorgeous coat is certainly a part of my legacy now!! People see the bright colors and know good things are coming their way! 🥰I would soooo love to find this tartan in other products… can anyone out there identify what it’s called and let me know? Thanks!!

a huge complex with plenty of parking, the cafe was very popular, as was the gift section, upstairs is worth a look where you will find discounted items.

The original Avoca Hand weavers, quaint, shopping area small and restricted range as result - products mixed and cluttered. O real definition, and of course typical Avoca, over priced! Staff were friendly and polite, the coffee shop takes up a large percentage of the property serving artisan style food, quality was reasonable but definitely over priced for what was on offer, slice quiche with 3 simple salads, & coffee nearly €20!

The Avoca weaving tour was absolutely wonderful !! A perfect blend of history, craftsmanship, and Irish charm. The 40-minute experience was engaging from start to finish, offering an inside look at one of the oldest weaving and industrial sites in all of Ireland. It’s impressive how well they’ve preserved both the artistry and the storytelling behind their work.
The tour is fully handicap accessible, and the guides make sure everyone can see and experience the process up close. Avoca truly spares no expense in creating a hands-on, interactive experience that brings the craft to life.
What makes it even more special is the story of the three sisters who started it all; their vision and dedication are genuinely inspiring. You leave with a deep appreciation for Irish heritage, family entrepreneurship, and the timeless beauty of handmade textiles. A must-visit for anyone traveling through the area!

Very interesting tour. You truly understand the higher price range after seeing exactly what goes into making each garment.

Delicious scones and coffee on way to Eoodenbridge to play golf. Totally charming spot. Sorry we didnt have time to see the hand weaving in the mill in action as that would have been fun ... another time. Great shop too.
