Baan Thai in Dublin

Baan Thai is a lovely little restaurant with very attentive staff and great authentic, tasty food. They accommodated me on very short notice and were good hosts!

Very good food, quick service. Bit pricey but honestly good value for the portions. Would definitely recommend the crispy duck!

Great cozy Thai place, with the best Calamari you can find! The Red Curry is spicy and tasty as well, but the Calamari starter is the best! The stuff is really polite and friendly, I do recommend visiting this place

I ordered a shrimp pad thai. It was flavorful and generally portioned, with 10 pieces of plump shrimp in it. Our waitress was friendly. Downsides: 1) They require 1 main dish per person, regardless of ordering sides. The main dish portion is pretty big so some of us wanted to share several small dishes and one main dish. It turns out they don't allow that. 2) Most of the main dishes have rice with them. The waitress asked if we wanted steamed rice or fried rice. We ordered the fried rice, only to figure out when we were paying that fried rice costs extra. They didn't let us know, so the lack of transparency was a bit frustrating.

Greed. We did not have a reservation. It was not a problem as there were plenty of tables, which should have been the first sign as it was a Friday night in the middle of ballsbridge. The waiter took our order. We ordered a carafe of wine and a starter. We wanted to share a starter. For two people it doubled in price. We asked for a few minutes extra to order our main. When another waiter came to take our order I said we would share a main dish as I assumed the starter would be large given the price. She said we had to order two mains. When I explained we had already ordered a large starter she said it was ok. But it felt uncomfortable. She asked what rice we wanted and I had not realised the dish came with rice so I ordered a portion of egg fried rice. Surely she could have mentioned as I was already paying 23.50 and then another 4. Food was nice but I won’t be back. Much more value elsewhere.

We had Pad Thai, Tomyum and Stir-fried broccoli with beef. In general all the food was tasty and high quality. The only thing is they were less spice than I expected.

Heerlijk restaurant op de 1ste verdieping. Beperkt aantal tafels. Volgens mij was de hele familie in de bediening of keuken. Hele fijne smaken en ruime keuze .

Always a great choice, food, wine, service, unbeatable. Lovely staff We have been going for years, food is incredible and not expensive considering it’s Ballsbridge We had prawn and cashew nuts for the first time, class. Maybe needs modernising to compete with all the new restaurants in Dublin but honestly, this is a must in Dublin
