Balfes in Dublin

When you enter the Balfe you are immediately transported from Dublin to Paris. The bistro style is perfectly implemented and you feel like you are in France. I had to swallow a lot because of the high prices, but the food was really fantastic. Small breakfast menu but everything is very elaborate.

Had an awesome time eating dinner at the bar - the food was great and the service was excellent.

If you are looking for a buzzy yet relaxed place in town with a menu with something for everyone- look no further. Super friendly staff too.

Steak frits were awesome... ordered MedRare and got perfect MedRare. Bernaise sauce off the chart! BEST old fashion cocktail I've had in Dublin. Service, quality AAA•

What a beautiful place! I came here for my Valentine’s Day date this year and had a tremendous time. In terms of food, I had the muscles for starter and the steak 6oz for main. By desert we were just too full to have any. Very gorgeous meals, prepared well! For sides we wanted to try the roast potatoes and the roasted carrots and they were the most disappointing for me, especially considering they range from 6-7 euro each. The cocktails in this place are magnificent. The bartender really seems to know what he’s doing! I recommend the be you teaufiul. I think I will go back to Balfes on the reg just to have that gorgeous cocktail. My boyfriend tried to get the old winter cocktail and the waiter responded that they had taken it off their menu. However, our menu still had it there. A little disappointing but nit-picky of me to make a deal of it! The staff were excellent. No judgement and the same respect given to us regarding our age (23-25) as a lot of nice places tend to dismiss us because of that reason. I felt very special that night, our waiter was amazing, and so lovely. Not too in our face, very much left us to our own devices when we had our meal. Queen! I think this place deserves to charge what they charge for a dinner, however not for the sides. I suppose their beer is just ordinary beer but for a heightened price but I assume that people pay 7.5 euro for a hophouse because it’s a fancy restaurant. That’s none of my business. I give this place 4 stars because I can’t quite give it a 5 as I was not blown away but considering how special I felt after this meal, and how amazing the services was, I would leave it 4.5 if that was possible on Google maps.

Gorgeous brunch with my friend. I had the vegan burger and chips and my friend had the eggs with kale. We also shared sides of broccoli and hash browns. Really delicious vegan burger. Made from fresh veggies in a patty and no fake meat so was delighted to see that!! So flavoursome and great to see vegan mayo too along with the other toppings!! My veggie friend really enjoyed her eggs too! Broccoli cooked to perfection!! Very high quality food and great service. Lovely naturally chatty and friendly staff. Our server was lovely when I asked her if burger was fake meat and she was able to explain all the ingredients were fresh veggies!! Delighted to see that!! Much healthier and tastier!! Fab atmosphere and great buzz. I’d just like some music or something in background to set scene more!!! That’s all!! Apart from that it’s well worth a visit and location fab for shopping.

I had the Friday special. Sea Bass. It was nice but the garlic butter/sauce was very overpowering. The mussels were minuscule, very disappointing. I expected more for €32. The potatoes were also small and there weren’t many at all. I also ordered chips as a side but they forgot, I eventually got them. The waitress was lovely and friendly. I also ordered the crem brûlée, it was lovely.

Great food. Very healthy turkey burger. Really high-quality service.

Food is okay but nothing extraordinary and mine was only barely warm when served. Service was good but restaurant is overly loud and hard to hear. V expensive for what you'd get at a nice local cafe
