Brindle Coffee & Wine in Dublin

Brindle has been a staple in my life since I moved to Portobello. The staff are the best part; they take every opportunity to get to know you, whether you're in for a delightful morning coffee or a glass of wine later on. The sandwiches are delicious, and there's a great range of non-alcoholic options (the kombucha cans are a lifesaver when it's too late for coffee and too early for wine). It's also a great spot to meet friends. The front is deceiving — there's a lovely back space that's perfect for settling in over coffee or wine. One thing worth stating plainly: on the surface, the coffee might look a bit pricey, but Brindle does not charge extra for non-dairy milk. Most places tack on 30–50c for a non-dairy alternative, and that adds up. Once you factor it in, the pricing is completely fair. The actual best part, though? Obviously the dog clients.

Brindle has genuinely become one of my favourite places in Dublin — and, according to Nelly, she’s the one who brings me here every day. She absolutely loves this place because everyone treats her so well and, of course, she gets her little treats. At this point, she basically guides me here on our daily walk. I’m pretty sure she knows exactly where we’re going long before I do. I come here almost every day for coffee, and I also buy my beans here. They have different coffees from all over the world and grind them for me, which is such a lovely touch. They also have a great selection of wine and Irish products. I especially love how Brindle supports local artists, designers and makers. They have candles and other products from local people, so you’re always discovering something new and supporting small businesses at the same time. They also have a really lovely indoor space where you can host events and bring people together, which I think is such a nice part of what they’ve created. And the people are just genuinely so nice, which makes coming here every day even better. A very special little local — loved by me, but apparently even more loved by Nelly.

We are lucky enough to have Brindle on our doorstep, but it is still my first choice for coffee anywhere in the city and a lovely spot for an evening glass of wine. Special shout outs to Rachel, Chay and all the staff who are so friendly and kind as well as knowledgeable about coffee and wine, and extremely welcoming to our whirlwind puppy who drags us in when she can for treats. 11/10 from us all!

I absolutely love Brindle. Consistently the best flat white I’ve had in Dublin since moving back from Sydney! It’s also excellent for a bottle of wine, pastry, fresh eggs or funny cards. The staff are so lovely and welcoming and Chay is always happy to give wine recommendations. Delighted to have this gem on my doorstep.

Such a wonderful local hangout! Best flat white I’ve had in Dublin, and the wraps and granola yogurt pots are class. The staff are so lovely, always up for a chat. The back room is nicely tucked away and the perfect spot to read, get some work done or catch up with friends, with lots of beautiful plants, books and games. One of the few places around that’s open both early and late - every day. The sort of spot where you’re made to feel at home and want to keep coming back to (as I do most days!). Thanks to the whole Brindle team for creating such a warm, welcoming space for us all :)

A great selection of quality wines and food items to buy from the shop. Long tables to the rear of the shop and the place is nicely decorated: a good place to do a bit of reading with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.

What a lovely cafe! Got an Iced Oat Latte, perfect for the beautiful weather we’re having. Lovely barista behind the counter, some of the best customer service i’ve had in Dublin ! Will definitely return again

Just an amazing little spot in Portobello. Nothing beats grabbing a bottle of wine from here and chilling on the payment on a nice, summer afternoon. Staff are always friendly and knowledgeable about the products.
