The ambiance is lovely and the canal view is beautiful! The service is excellent. The ladies there are friendly and welcoming! The chef, if you are reading things .. the eggs Benedict were very disappointing .. the poached eggs were not runny, a little over cooked and the hollandaise sauce was watery and tasteless I suspect it was some sort of packaged powder? I might be wrong?! But to me it didn’t taste like hollandaise sauce at all! Instead of using English muffins, our eggs were served on a regular bun… maybe I ordered the wrong item on the menu! Anyways, my husband and I enjoyed the coffee and the view and will surely come to try something different and next time I will just ask what’s the chef special? Or go for lunch or tea/ coffee instead of breakfast?

The water view is wonderful as we eat at this gem of a place. Lorraine and her crew are always welcoming, friendly, and accommodating to our requests! Portions are large and satisfying and delicious. We never leave wanting for more! Highly recommend.

02/01/2026: We went to the Pippin Tree restaurant and spent a lovely time celebrating my wife's birthday. The server Ilias was very kind and helpful. Service was very fast and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend The Pippin Tree for anyone looking for a nice, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere with great food to match.
17/11/2025: We visited for the festive afternoon tea. When I asked about the price by email, I was told it was €44 with prosecco included. They served mulled wine with the afternoon tea, and we were told it was included in the price. However, at the restaurant we were charged extra for the prosecco, and the festive afternoon tea itself was €45. I had to ask for a new glass because the first one had lipstick on it. The quality of the food was fine and the tea was okay. The service was excellent—staff were attentive and very helpful. However, the experience didn’t feel very festive. Aside from a large Christmas tree in the room, there wasn’t much decoration. The setup also didn’t match the festive presentation shown on their Instagram, which was disappointing

Casey's Bar & Bistro

09/11/2025: We have been coming here every year for the walk and scenery but this year the hospitality was exceptional. The food drink and a sing song around the piano was exceptional. I will be recommending to everyone. We met a great staff member I think his name was Michael but not sure but he made our day and night. This year was just brilliant
08/11/2025: Wonderful stay in The Glendalough Hotel...food was lovely. All the staff were great and Michael in the bar was fantastic. Thank you guys.
