Café Sol Cornelscourt in Dublin

The chocolate fudge cake isn’t spectacular but my goodness that hot chocolate was definitely one of the best I’ve had in a cafe for a while.

I had a good little breakfast here today. I got a sausage roll and some salad. The woman behind the counter was very nice and funny. She gave good advice on what to get. It was like €9 for the sausage roll and the 3 different types of salad. The place was clean. Staff were great. It was busy but the staff were efficient.

Unfortunately my experience at this café was very disappointing. The staff seemed to be in a bad mood and the service felt rushed from the beginning. When I went to order, the attendant immediately asked what I wanted to drink and didn’t give me a chance to order anything else, like the croissant I was planning to get. What really bothered me was something I witnessed while sitting there. The staff member who was cleaning the tables dropped a fork on the floor, stepped on it, then kicked it under the fridge where the cold food is stored. I found this very concerning and inappropriate for a place that serves food. I ended up just drinking the coffee because I had already ordered it, but honestly, it had been a long time since I had such a poor experience at a café.
