Chavalees Cafe in Dublin

The scones & coffee were very nice . However was a little distasteful of the staff member to say “ because you are ordering just scones & coffee , we will need the table back in 30 minutes , our coffee shop is down the road”. This remark made me feel sad & I would not be keen to return to a business with this attitude .

Had a delicious brunch - would highly recommend the Brioche French Toast!

Food is fabulous, unexpectedly good for brunch. Service is excellent, staff are very friendly.

The good: The food and coffee was very nice. Some of the best hash browns I've ever had - I'll definitely go back for those. They were a very pleasant surprise. The scones, jam and cream were really nice too (especially for the price) and are worth ordering. The staff was friendly and the service was good. The bad: A bit shocking to see the alternative milks for coffee are €0.95 extra which is double of what most places charge. Also, the place was quite loud. It was reasonably busy (not full) so some noise is expected, but the biggest source of noise was the staff loudly chatting between themselves which was a bit distracting.

Phenomenal gem in blackrock town. We got served by a wonderful woman who really just went above and beyond for every customer she saw that busy day. Service didn’t slack just because it was busy. Great vegan options and well priced. 5 stars!

Great coffee in a busy location

Our waiter joked that the service is better than the food: he wasn't wrong... Food is nice but portions could be bigger (the Irish breakfast), for example, why only a single slice of toast? High quality food, that's for sure. Coffee was only ok. Atmosphere is nice, acoustics aren't great though (loud, can hear the other table's conversation). Prices are normal for Dublin: coffee + food for €20, if you tip.
