Chequer Lane by Jamie Oliver in Dublin

It was very warm inside. The decor was as expected for Jamie’s restaurant. The fish and chips were tasty. The Chicken Caesar salad was huge. We ordered dessert, mine was the peach crumble. The waitress set it in front of me and walked away and I reached for it to pull it closer to me by the handles of the dish and badly burnt my fingers. I had to leave the table to run cold water over my fingers. The waitress guided me and said she was sorry for not warning me. I was shocked to find the bill fully intact when it arrived minutes later. Disappointing.

Amazing food, the vegan curry is absolutely divine. Chips are really good too. We were lucky to get a walk in and sat at the bar, the atmosphere was great and the restaurant was gorgeous. A bit loud and overwhelming at the bar, but the drinks made up for it. My only complaint is that I didn’t get pilaf rice as advertised on the menu, and the rice I did get wasn’t that nice. However, the rest of the meal made up for it. Will be back.

Really lovely experience from booking all the way through to dessert. There was a drop-down asking what the occasion was so I filled it in (would never think of doing that otherwise), we were pleasantly greeted with 2 glasses of prosecco to celebrate, and a lovely bowl of ice cream at the end. Food and service was really good. Would definitely go back.

The service is attentive without being intrusive, ensuring you feel completely comfortable from the very first moment. The menu is a culinary journey around the world, offering something for everyone. Our dishes were simply delicious – as Tim Mälzer would say, heartfelt cuisine that you can taste. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return when we're next in Dublin.

We reserved the basement private room for an after party for our 10 year vow renewal. The food and drinks were amazing! The service was great and the private space was amazing. We did the 3 course set menu and everything was great. Really helped make the night. Thank you so much for everything!
