Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge in Dublin

Our stay was smooth and impressive. The looks at the hotel are just amazing and the staff and cleanliness were outstanding. We booked two rooms with less than 24 hours of advance and they were brilliant helping me and making the check in process easy. We had a car and it was great the parking was easy to use. The o my issue I found and hence why it won’t be a 10 will be 20€ each person for breakfast. We travelled with a kid and to pay 20€ for him to have cereal I found it a bit too much. Otherwise everything was amazing and we will be back.

Prior to and after surgery on my foot at St. Vincent's Hospital, my husband and I stayed four nights at the Clayton Hotel nearby. It was such a positive experience in so many ways that I have to acknowledge it as exceptional. My mobility was severely compromised due to my foot injury and surgery but the hotel went beyond the call of duty to make my stay there as stress free and comfortable as possible. I was given a ground floor room convenient to reception, the loan of a wheelchair during my stay and the use of a disabled parking bay close to the front door of the hotel. To top off this first class service to aid my mobility, the staff throughout the hotel were exceptionally pleasant, courteous and efficient and the food was absolutely delicious.

Great building and environment. The person on reception who checked me out was very friendly. Room was clean and tidy. WiFi speed could be better - it kept losing connection and when you are travelling on business it has become increasingly important. Staff in the morning at breakfast should make a point of thanking everyone when they leave. Most of us ended up thanking them and there wasn't even an acknowledgement! It's basic. You are hardly a 4 star if staff don't consistently greet you and say thank you when you leave. Talk to the chef about overnight oats! I was told that they are put out at 8am. The restaurant opens at 6.30am - if they are overnight oats they should be prepped the night before and put out when the restaurant opens, along with everything else. On 14 August they were late opening, it was gone 6.30am at which point there was a queue forming. No acknowledgement that they were a bit late, no apology. You need to pick up your game - don't rely on volume of American tourists to keep your hotel ticking over. I hope this constructive, factual feedback is helpful. I was really looking forward to my stay as you had been recommended. I am choosing a different hotel for my return visit.

We had the best dining experience in Dublin. We loved everything about it. The food was amazing and the ambience was over the top. Special praise goes to the staff in particular Camila who made our night memorable with her kindness, professionalism and attention to detail. We'll definitely come back for another special night. Thanks again.

Beautiful old building. The room was plenty spacious and quite comfortable. No centralized air but they did have a fan and the window opened enough to get a breeze. Located in a very nice area of the city. Breakfast was good. Didn’t spend much time at the bar but it seemed nice. We stayed for two nights. Didn’t mind being further out from the city center. There is a bus stop out front.

Booked and paid for 3 people staying 1 night with a last min addition of 1 more adult. Receptionist were very courteous and highly accommodating, moved us to a family room with no extra charge. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, bathroom very spacious. Location is just fantastic, close to all amenities and dart station, yet quiet. Only problem was the lack of air conditioning, so room was very warm even at night. Decor is basic and dated, but other cons more than made up for it. Perfect for short stay.

Enjoyed out stay with the one exception. no air-conditioning

We recently stayed at this four-star hotel with our two young children (ages 4 and 5), and while the staff were kind and accommodating, the overall stay was disappointing. When we first arrived, our family room had clearly not been cleaned — the minibar area was full of leftover chips, cookies, and other snacks from previous guests. We called the front desk, and the duty manager came promptly to clean it himself. He also offered all four of us complimentary breakfast for our two-day stay, which was a thoughtful gesture. Unfortunately, that night there was a loud party in the room next door that went on until about 1:30 a.m. The music was so loud that none of us, including the kids, could sleep. We later learned that all family rooms are on that same side of the building, right next to the party area — which makes no sense for guests with young children. The staff apologized and said they would have moved us if there had been any free rooms, but there weren’t. The next morning, we discovered yet another issue — a pair of old shoes left behind in the room. At that point, we were quite frustrated. However, duty manager Stefan handled the situation very professionally. He listened to our concerns, moved us to a new room (as there were vacancies by then), waived our parking fees, and even gave us free hop-on, hop-off bus tickets, which we appreciated. Breakfast at the hotel was decent, and the staff — especially Stefan and Sebastian — went above and beyond to try to make things right for us. Service-wise, we can’t complain; they genuinely tried to help. That said, the hotel’s cleanliness issues, poor room placement for families, and lack of soundproofing made the stay far from what we expected for the price. If you decide to book here, I recommend calling ahead to confirm where your room will be, especially if traveling with children.

Perfekt stay! Close to the bus stop and the DART! Very kind staff! Clean room. Enough towels (which is definitely not standard in other hotels!). I fully recommend this hotel!
