Coffee Works Lucan in Dublin

Very nice little coffee shop in Lucan village with really good coffee and the most scrumptious cinnamon buns. We read the papers there both mornings at the weekend and felt very comfortable although it was busy with lots of people dropping in for a takeaway cup. Wish it was near me! 😊

Don't come here as much as before, despite the food and coffee still being quite good (maybe not as good as before, I know I'm not the only person who feels this way). The atmosphere is conflicting at best as you'll probably end up finding nowhere to sit either because it's packed or because all of the tables are too dirty to consume food and drink in - frequently it is the case when a member of staff is cleaning, they'll miss a lot of glaringly obvious things like dirty plates and cups. This even happens when the cafe is relatively quiet. Another thing that baffles me is how shockingly slow the service is, in some cases there could be five Niles Crane-level of coffee orders made that would be delivered quicker than something as simple as an espresso. Some of the staff have been decent and will do the job, but since Covid that has been almost gone.

Best coffee in the lucan/Clondakin area easily! Would love it if the space was bigger and had more seating available. Pricey enough for pastries and protein balls.
