Fantastic. I had a Lamb sag, vindaloo hot, and it was. My wife’s pasanda was lovely. Lemon rice was the best I’ve had in years. It was my birthday and I mentioned that when I was waiting for my takeaway. The guy behind the counter immediately gave me a free beer while I waited. Great experience. Update 9 months on. I ordered the same again and there was a big mix up! I had to take it back. I’d ordered a lamb sag and I got a chicken sag. Or did I? The chef was adamant it was lamb, I was adamant it was chicken. The problem was it was “”tikka”! I never ever order tikka, I want the meat, not the frozen marinaded stuff. Even when I got the replacement they’d still used tikka lamb and honestly I’d have still argued it was chicken! But, it was gorgeous, extremely tasty lemon rice and mushroom rice. But seriously, I DO NOT want tikka. If I’d wanted tikka I’d have ordered tikka. Through this mistake, the staff were fantastic. Professional, attentive, not at all defensive. Couldn’t do enough to sort it out. It’s honestly down to just serving what is ordered, not what you think the customer wants.

The Curry Cottage is a bustling little jewel of a restaurant in Stranorlar. The waiters are really lovely. The food is simply delicious and we were all delighted with our meals. I had the chicken Jalfrezi special and it was yum. Spicy enough without been too hot. The good thing is that the food is consistently good, in the 3+ years that we have been going there. We'll definitely be returning.
