Daddy's Café in Dublin

Sad to see that this place has declined, Daddy’s used to be a great spot for breakfast or a take away coffee and pastry, but since reopening as the Day Cafe it’s just not the same anymore. I got a ham and cheese toasted sandwich for take away, which was not great. The sandwich was dry and not pleasant to eat, and the cheese overpowering in taste. The ham was tasty enough, but on the dry side too. It’s hard to get a sandwich wrong, and there are very few things on the menu, so I’m not sure what happened here - the old sandwiches at Daddy’s were tasty! The pastry selection also looked quite dry and not tempting at all, in the end I didn’t order any. However, my friend ordered a coffee (flat white) said it was decent. I hope they pull it together soon, it’s such a shame to want to support a local spot but not get value back for your money.
