Devitts in Dublin

A very nice pub with a large selection of beers and whiskeys. Live music on the first floor, so you can easily have a conversation downstairs.

American tourist here, Devitt’s was the best pub we found during our time in Dublin. We actually enjoyed it so much that we went twice! The beef stew was the best we had in Ireland and the live music made for a great night for drinks at the pub.

Had a great chicken and chorizo pot pie! Staff was friendly and helpful. They typically have live music.

Had an early dinner upstairs on a Thursday evening, hoping to be set for the Diddley-di (Trad music). It was packed with mostly locals. The Chicken and Chorizo Pie was delicious and hearty. Sadly, the music that night was more Val Doonican than Dubliners. I might try again Friday but I fear it may be swamped. Still, a very fair value for under 40 Euro for dinner with a John Powers to start and a pint of local Dublin lager with dinner. Get there very early - 4p or even earlier - and get seated as close to the front (Camden St side) as you can.

Great place for friendly drinks and good music.

Great live music, great staff, attentive servers, and we enjoyed a cozy Irish meal. Guiness Stew and Roast lamb for us. Generous portions, poured a great pint and we had a great first meal back in Dublin.

One of the best pubs I’ve ever been!!! The food was absolutely delicious, the Guinness beef stew is to die for and the fish and chips, must try the hamburger!!!
