Drimnagh Take Away in Dublin

A great local chipper. I ordered a Smoked Cod - a good portion, tasty, NOT greasy and the nice lady threw in a few chips. They were very friendly. While I was there a couple of kids came in for I'm not sure if it was dinner or tea, they were well looked after, one had a picket full of change, another had exactly the right money and their mate had his mother's credit card, he was known by the shop. I got take-away there since about fifty-five years ago when coming home after midnight from working as a lounge boy in the White Horse, the Macari's owned it then - they come from a place in Italy called Montanessio (probably wrong spelling) they too were a lovely family.

My family have been eating in this chipper long before i was ever born even now that i dont live in the area anymore i still get food here wen im passing

Very friendly service, and superb chicken and chips. Chicken was freshly cooked, juicy, well seasoned, and the chips were from heaven. I asked what oil they were fried in, and beef dripping was the answer! This makes THE best chips, and they were crisp and fluffy inside. Can’t wait to try the fresh fish tomorrow !
