Great pub for drinks nice local.

The menu has gotten smaller in years, which would imply that simple things are done very well. The chicken curry was turkey meat, the burger was on the cold side and the chips seemed like they were scraped from the bottom of the pan. I think there's only one dessert option at nearly a tenner which is crazy. Understandably the cost of everything has gone up- but if kitchens keep cutting corners and use only the cheapest options, you're going to lose revenue in the long term. This is not just the DH, but across the entire industry.

When the weather is dreich you need a proper pint in front of a proper fire. This pub delivered.

A village institutuon with a great history behind it. Pints of stout always of top standard. Food has a great selection of pub classics. I must recommend the smash burger. Top pub.

Food mostly good. Sometimes a bit hit and miss.

I’m a Guinness drinker and the Guinness is spot on! They even have chilled pint glasses in the fridge. Had the Thai curry also. Super! No complaints
