This café is fabulous. It may not be the most cool or instagrammable in the city, but the breakfast, the sandwiches/wraps are magnificent (a shoutout to the crispy spicy pulled chicken wrap - wow!). I’ve been here maybe a dozen times now and yet Essence remains a relatively unknown gem that has managed to fly beneath the radar. There are other decent food cafés in Dublin but few offer great coffee, genuinely fabulous food and such warm service. Each new visit brings a fear that I will have to join a line out the door waiting to be served and thrilled. For breakfast, for lunch or just an afternoon break, in my opinion, it is the unequivocally the best in Dundrum and truly among the best in the city.

Lovely little cafe in the heart of Dundrum, food and coffee is excellent but the real highlight is the staff. So friendly and so attentive. Highly recommend!

Nice cafe/restaurant on the main street in Dundrum, Dublin. Service is good and staff are very friendly and polite. Good selection on the menu suitable for breakfast or lunch.
