A Hidden Gem by the Sea – The Fish Shack, Sandycove The Fish Shack in Sandycove, Dún Laoghaire is an absolute delight. Every visit has been a consistently fantastic experience. The fish is always incredibly fresh – you can truly taste the quality in every bite. Whether it’s the classic fish and chips or one of their daily specials, you’re in for a treat. The atmosphere is amazing – relaxed, cozy, and full of charm. It’s the perfect place to unwind with family or catch up with friends. The staff deserve a special mention too – always friendly, welcoming, and professional. They go out of their way to make sure you feel at home. All in all, it’s a beautiful spot with great food, a lovely setting by the sea, and a team that truly cares. Highly recommend!

The service was good and friendly. No complaints. The food was also good though the fish'n'chips was several small pieces instead of one large filet of fish. I generally prefer larger filets so one gets more actual fish. Fries were good. The burger was also pretty good. Nothing was out of this world but it was all good.

This place is a bit overrated. I ordered fish tacos and they were properly made, but the paella, jesus christ, terrible. The rice was overcooked, it was more like mashed rice, and the rest of the ingredients were completely overcooked as well. I couldn't finish it, wasted food. I think the personnel knows the paella sucks. The attention was average, nothing stood out.

Have had both takeaway and sat in here. Would recommend to any fish lovers. great variety on the menu of delicious fish and shellfish options. Beautiful boat cut fries. Would recommend coming to the restaurant over the van on the pier.

Tried the fish and chips - chips was amazing. Fish was just average. Also tried the taco crab - wouldn’t recommend it. It didn’t taste that good. Totally spent 33€ on both the items.

Excellent experience overall. Portions were filling. Great staff. Do recommend.

Lovely lunch of mussels, fish chowder and paella out on the veranda looking at the sea. Recommend!
