Frank Ryan’s is pure Dublin character bottled up in one bar. Guinness pours like velvet, pizzas are dangerously good, and the vibe’s all chaos in the best way! Such an unassuming place when you walk by, but so cool- almost like drinking inside someone’s eccentric attic, and somehow it works. Service was sound, music on point, crowd lively without being messy. If you want a pub that feels lived-in, loved, and a little bit mad, this is it. Five stars, no question

Nice relaxing, great tunes. No lights , just candles throughout different. All the bras hanging from a line overhead. Must find out what thats about.

A bit too dark for my eyes, but pizza & beers were very good.

Disappointing experience at Frank Ryan’s
I was really looking forward to visiting Frank Ryan’s, but unfortunately, my experience was far from positive. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and the service was lacking. The staff seemed disengaged, and there was little effort to make customers feel comfortable or looked after.
The quality of what was served also didn’t match the price. For the cost, I expected much better—both in terms of taste and presentation. Instead, it felt rushed and underwhelming, with no real attention to detail. It simply didn’t live up to the standard you’d hope for in a place like this.
Overall, it was a disappointing visit. Between the poor service, high prices, and underwhelming quality, I can’t say I would recommend Frank Ryan’s. It’s not somewhere I’d choose to return to, especially when there are so many other spots in the area offering far better value and a warmer welcome.

It takes your eyes a minute or two to adjust when you walk in as its as dark as walking into your attic with no light so be prepared!
The Guinness is beautiful. Old school glass with a lovely creamy head. The pizza is just WOW. 17.50 to me is expensive for a medium pizza but believe me when I tell you its more than worth it. Not heavy and doesn't have you struggling to finish a pint after eating it. I don't drink in the city centre much at all and this was my second time there. It's a proper old school pub. Love it

Very cool and dark vibes with live music. But yes, they do require that everyone in your party is drinking something.
