The experience at Glasson Lakehouse is incredible. The staff are genuine, kind and welcoming from start to finish. The food was on another level, the steak was the best I’ve ever had. The hotel is one of a kind with an incredible view of the lake that makes every moment feel peaceful and special. Always love to visit whenever possible.

The hotel itself was beautiful, set in a perfect location, and our room was exceptionally spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately, the dining experience at Bonnie’s significantly let down our stay. We started with the chicken wings, which were disappointing. Our main courses—crispy pork belly and steak—were served almost cold. The pork lacked any crispiness, and the side salad with the steak was drenched in dressing, making it nearly inedible. The chocolate crème brûlée was also a letdown, with a flavor and texture that didn’t feel fresh. Sadly, breakfast didn’t redeem the experience either—it was underwhelming overall. Given the price point, we expected a much higher standard of food. We also used the hot tubs, which were lovely, though having to go to the bar to get a drink was a bit inconvenient. Everything else about the hotel was excellent, but the food really missed the mark for us.

OK, with fantastic grounds, a stunning lake, a wonderful golf course, restaurant, bar, lobby, outdoor pool, small gym and activities then there is something for everyone. Its grounds were beautiful and just walking around them was relaxation all on its own. The kids have more then enough to keep them happy. And on the last night of our stay we witnessed a stunning full red mood. A superb location lacking only one thing. A shuttle bus to Athlone town maybe twice or three times daily. Because taxies cost between 25 to 35 euros and that makes a shopping visit too expensive. But don't let that take anything away from a wonderful location and a great break, cheers

We had a lovely anniversary here, really top spot with great attention to detail. Hot tub on the lake was a bonus.

Absolutely superb place and wonderful staff

A unique experience. Absolutely idyllic. Rustic and vintage chique. Incredible food. Dinner was outstanding ( pork belly). Outdoor heated pool like heaven. Walkway down to the lake so pretty. Staff were so genuine and pleasant. Every inch of the decor was a feast for the eyes. Highly recommend .
