What an experience! We were just walking by and the owner invited us inside. The first impression was as if we were in some movie visiting a private pub in Hollywood or something. The owner is such a character and I can see that this pub is his life, which is really awesome.

Absolutely loved my experience at The Hacienda Bar in Dublin—it’s a true hidden treasure with a personality all its own. From the outside, it, but once you're buzzed in, you're welcomed into a wonderfully quirky space filled with charm and history. Shay, the charismatic host, makes everyone feel like a regular, and the atmosphere is warm, lively, and uniquely authentic. The decor is an eccentric blend of vintage touches and cheeky details, the jukebox is stacked with classics, and the whole vibe is inviting and unforgettable. It’s cash-only, which adds to the retro charm. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the hotel next door and were intrigued by the building. Looked on google and thought we would give it blast, if we could get in. Well we weren’t even asked a question about getting in , as when we came to the door, the fabulous Shay, was letting someone out, so he let us in. Great for a pint or a game of pool has the charm of an old pub. My two gay pals Dave and Paul, loved it. I think Shay thought I was there bodyguard… we went back the next night too. Loved the place. Great music in there also.

You can only get in when you ring the bell. The owner then opens it and decides whether you are allowed in. But it wasn't a problem if you were nice and friendly and not too drunk. A must see if you are in Dublin.

From the outside it may seem like just another unassuming building, but behind the closed gate is a cosy quiet pub that's run by the owner himself. To enter, you ring the doorbell and answer a few questions asked by the owner. The pub is decorated with vintage items and photos of celebrities that have visited the pub in the past. There are also two pool tables. Card payments are accepted and the pints are very moderately priced. Easily one of my favourite pubs in Ireland.

Very local. You call and a very peculiar guy opens the door. It's a curious place to visit, but you have to be in the right mood to feel at home. It's recommended to be there for the pool games.

McSorley's

08/06/2025: Always a good night out, staff always friendly
13/05/2025: This is one of the best places in Dublin due to several reasons: super nice staff, best atmosphere, and great range of beers. They always have a few unique beers on tap to put the cherry on top. The food is delicious as well. Recently they started offering their own range of beers which I found very delicious. If you pass by this place, it's never a miss. Slainte!!
