Hardy's Bar in Dublin

The hotel was superb, with a very comfortable room! However, the spa area was rather disappointing; it felt more like a public swimming pool. But the gym was really good!

From the moment we presented ourselves for our afternoon tea booking, Myat (a staff member who is a credit to this hotel) looked after our every need. Our luxurious window seating with a sea view was a treat in itself. What followed was nothing short of spectacular. We commented how the presentation of this festive afternoon tea was ALMOST too good to eat! Endless cups of tea accompanied by a perfectly warm glass of homemade mulled wine. The pastry chefs clearly put plenty of love and attention into the preparation of this afternoon tea. The Christmas sandwiches were so tasty, as were the fresh scones, canapés and little desserts. The food was so plentiful that we were offered the opportunity to take home whatever we couldn’t finish….which we happily did!! We will certainly be making festive afternoon tea a Christmas tradition. Thank you to Myat and all of the team for looking after us so well. What a relaxing way to spend an afternoon catching up with friends.

It’s not worse the price. It tries to be luxurious, but repeatedly fails to deliver on its promise. The rooms need more care. The service is adequate, but not for the prices. Some of the spa and fitness rules are restrictive and annoying.

Very spacious rooms with beautifully decorated floors. The beds are large and comfortable. The extra bed for our child was okay, though in my opinion not soft enough. If you skip breakfast, you can enjoy the whole hall area almost to yourself and have a very tasty cappuccino with your loved ones next to a lovely Christmas tree. Special thanks to the guys from the café bar for the delicious breakfast and great service 💪🏻 The other bar is fine, not that great food choice (hamburger, frites) although we didn’t experience any of the promised live music. The pool area is huge and includes a whirlpool, sauna, and long opening hours. Swimming aids for children are provided, and there is supervision (distanced). All guests must wear swimming caps (for 3€ extra). In the evening after 6 pm, the lights are dimmed and the pool turns into a very cozy place with soft blue lighting – really lovely for couples or girls Eve 🥰 Negatives: Children are not allowed to use the whirlpool or sauna, which was quite disappointing for us. The pool area should be renovated – a large mold stain on the wall looks rather unhealthy 🤯 All the small extras you would normally expect in the room have to be requested separately, for example slippers. There is no shoe polish or shoehorn (not even at reception), and bathrobes are only available for SPA guests. For a rate of 250€ per night, it doesn’t feel appropriate to send guests to reception for such basic items or not to provide bathrobes at all.

The hotel is 15 minutes away from Dublin city center by tram, but I'm glad I didn't stay in the center. It's very crowded and there's nothing to see there, just shops and bars. However, the village where this hotel is located is very beautiful, and I really liked it. We thought it was a bed and breakfast, but it turned out to be a basic room. The rooms were clean and spacious. We were lucky to get a room facing the back, but we got a room called 513. There's a very pleasant smell everywhere in the hotel. The only problem is that there's no staff downstairs in the lobby, where the bar and fireplace are, the tables are full, empty glasses, no one is there to take orders, and there's a lot of staff just hanging around.

Nice hotel, staff were friendly, good area, breakfast was pretty bad though the sausages were lukewarm at best with soggy eggs and completely unseasoned potatoes so I removed a star for that, the room was fine but there could have been more products in it especially for €190 a night. Chromecast on the TV also didn't work.

Very nice hotel good food and excellent service both at front desk and in restaurant.
