Hawksmoor Dublin in Dublin

It is said you should judge places by how they solve problems. If that is true, this place gets an A+. So it started great, the building is stunning and beautifully presented, the lighting is beautiful, the glass dome over the main area is magnificent. The staff were quick to look after us and the set menu had some nice options. Food was nice and the portions were generous. Then after the mains we were kinda forgotten about, so after 40 mins one of our party went up to the main desk to complain .. Nicely. The response was quick and without excuses, service resumed, apologies offered and we went back to a high standard of service. Would I go back, absolutely.

Hawksmoor is a typical steakhouse style dinner spot. The cocktails were a top notch experience, with everything else coming in as just average. We were highly impressed with the bar, bartender, and cocktails but note the service was quite slow (recognized the restaurant was full - but appeared only to be one bartender working for both bar and restaurant). After the bar, we sat for our full dinner and found everything to be about average. The appetizers were good - bone marrow and onions and the grilled oysters - but the flavors were plain and nothing outstanding. The steaks, sautéed spinach and potatoes were similarly plain - the steaks slightly overcooked and of note, the steak knives at the restaurant are not actual steak knives and don’t smoothly cut the steak. Overall, for a restaurant of this caliber and price range, we found the experience to be very simple.

One of the Best steak I've ever had and that sticky toffee pudding .....

Went in for their Sunday Roast a while back and left extremely underwhelmed. The beef was about at most 20% of the plate and the meat was too dry and had a hefty amount of gristle on it. The rest of it was padded with nonsense like a load of cabbage and a yorkshire pudding the size of a football that just looks bizarre. The starters and sides were much better than the main course but you had to pay a decent few quid more for those and I'm glad I did or else the food was getting 2 stars. On the upside, the cocktails were superb and the staff service was excellent. The decor and the aesthetic are very cool. If they just bring the food up to a similar level the place is on a winner. For now filing under good not great but would be open to giving it another shot.

This may be my favorite dining experience ever. I’m not picky at all about a restaurant’s decor. But for some reason I couldn’t help but look around this place in awe of how well designed it is. My wife and I both commented that the food is likely the best meal we’ve ever had. And finally the service. Everyone there was completely chill. Non-pretentious. And just excellent at their jobs. 100% would recommend and I dream of returning to Dublin for another meal here.

Housed in the beautifully restored former Bank of Ireland building, the place showed full house on a Monday night. Service felt a bit stretched, but steaks were excellent and came cooked to point. I skipped wine for my first Guiness of the trip, and the atmosphere did the rest to make it a very pleasant evening.

We went for diner with 3 on Friday evening. The restaurant is really in a beautiful setting and the vibe is great! We ordered 2x the chateaubriand and 1x the lobster. The taste of the food was absolutely 10/10. Unfortunately the service was lacking for us that evening. We ordered 2x bread as a side to our mains and it arrive 30 minutes before our main dish. We ordered 2 glasses of wine which did not appear until after 45 minutes when our mains arrived and we needed to specifically ask again for them. Nevertheless staff member were all very friendly. So overall a very average experience and I was expected more from this restaurant.

Genuinely worth a visit. Great food and honestly amazing service. We really enjoyed this restaurant.

Utterly fabulous! I highly recommend getting something like the prime rib and sharing it. They’ll tell you the size in grams but it was plenty for two of us to share. Then we shared a couple of sides. The chips were some of the best I’ve ever had! So was the Mac and cheese! The staff were top notch and the building is beautiful. Be sure to make a reservation. This was honestly one of the best meals we’ve ever had, period.

The food wasnt as good as i expected. I shared the bone in rib eye. The steak was quite fatty and not super flavourful. It was good but not good enough to justify €135. The chips were very good and so were the sauces. The lobster was good as well. The cocktails were just alright and very expensive for the size. The staff are very attentive especially if you have allergies and the atmosphere is really nice. My favourite part of the meal was the dessert. The sticky toffee pudding and peanut butter louis were good enough to make me want yo come back. Both were incredible.
