Hong Kong Taste Bakery & Bubble Tea is a mandatory stop when nearby. I have made it routine that whenever I am in town, I try and stop by for some Char Siu and Red Bean buns if they are in stock. The bakery has an assortment of breads from char siu, red bean, coconut, amongst others - all of which are scrumptious. I'd recommend the char siu especially, though I wish there was more stock as it seems to run out by the time I come around in the afternoons and evenings. The atmosphere inside is okay, a glass box stands bravely near the door with a range of buns to select from, though there are no seats so takeaway orders are implicit. The staff are eccentric, but in a nice way - especially the gentleman who runs the till. There was one time where I mistook a red bean bun for a char siu bun verbally, and the gentleman had the temerity to correct me with some disappointment in his tone. Whilst some would perceive such a thing to be presumptuous, especially to a customer, I actually think having the audacity to correct a customer when they are wrong is indicative of love and effort in one's craft (kind of like the Cevapi Key and Peele sketch). You would be foolish to not stop in and grab a bun!

Omg what a fantastic hidden gem 💎. Myself and my friend were in Dublin today for a doctors appointment. We got off the 27 right outside of here. We both got a scallion and a char siu bun. Both were amazing. 4.20 for 2 buns absolutely brilliant 👏

Fantastic bakery, everything is made fresh and buns are always perfectly warm under their heat lamp. Very sad parking is an issue around this area and that you guys don't open on Sundays or Bank Holidays. Bento cake is gorgeous - light fluffy and not too sweet

Love this bakery! I’m a regular here for over 1 year and a big fan of their baked goods. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants to try an asian style bakery, especially their sweet red bean bun, coconut bun and sponge cakes with cream are a must.

Provender & Family

02/04/2025: Nice flat white and great pastry!
06/03/2025: Very nice little cafe. I had an excellent chai tea latte here. The staff was very nice and the cafe was clean, including the bathroom. Everything is taken away from this cafe. They don't have seating inside really, but three tables outside. Prime people watching spot if the weather permits. It's right by the Ashling, so a great spot to grab a coffee before a work conference.
