Good spot, but lots of good competition

Excellent food and good service

I recommend their Beef and Guinness Stew. One of the first true Beef Stews I've ever had. The meat was well broken down but not mushy. The carrot and potato chunks were soft but firm to the bite instead of mush. The liquid to solid ratio was spot on for an actual stew, not a soup. I got the Prostitue cocktail and it was delicious. Properly balanced, not overly sweet or overly loaded. The bartender was friendly and helpful with recommendations. The atmosphere was part sophisticated yet standard Irish pub. It was 7pm on a Wednesday, it was quiet and only a few other customers which is what I prefer. I couldn't tell you what it might be like on a peak night or not. 5 of 5 recommend.

The Horse Show House in Ballsbridge is a great spot for a pint, especially if there’s a match or event on at the RDS. It’s a big place with plenty of seating and a lively atmosphere. The food is solid pub grub—burgers, fish and chips, and other classics. Portions are big, and it’s decent for what you pay. There’s a good selection of drinks, and it’s a handy place to meet up before or after a game. Service depends on how busy it is, but the staff are usually sound. If you’re after a casual place with a bit of buzz, it’s a good shout.

All the wait staff were lovely but a particular shout out to the server with long curly hair and glasses. Lovely banter and really friendly service, looked after us so well. Food was pretty standard tasty pub grub.

Easily the best place for a before a rugby match in Aviva or The RDS. I love everything about it. The beer garden is great, Service is quick, People are friendly and atmosphere is great!
