Excellent hot chocolates, milkshakes and matcha latte! Fresh pastries

This is a good coffee shop. Seems recently renovated or at least well maintained. Toilet was very clean. Coffee is unexpectedly Insomnia quality. Can't ask for much more

A quiet place to have breakfast.

Alright so I'd like to start off this review with my general experience of this insomnia, I honestly love going here and have been going here consistently for the past 4 years. Might I add that I've never had a bad experience until this Tuesday (29th). I'm sure we've all heard of the recent events in Dublin and the racism many people are currently facing, but I didn't think I'd be facing some on this racism first hand but here I am. I was in the queue waiting to buy my regular order of a caramel macchiato, while I'm standing there an employee approaches me and says 'you can't sit in here. Get what you're buying and leave', I say "okay" and I don't think too much of it (despite her very harsh and disrespectful tone towards me. I just amnt the sort of person who likes to argue or even call someone out for something they've done/said that is hurtful) until I notice that she did not approach anyone else in that whole queue other than me. When in fact many other students such as myself were queuing up just like myself. I have been born and raised in Dublin, I am a Irish passport holder and even if I wasnt all I am saying is that I shouldn't be treated any differently to anyone else just because of my skin colour or the fact that I'm a daughter of immigrant parents. I also wouldn't have cared as much as I do about this if I was spoken to in a respectful manner but let me tell you, I have neve been humiliated like that in my favourite coffee shop before, and honestly I don't appreciate the way I was treated and spoken to especially when no one else in that queue was spoken to that way. Apart from this employee none of the others have ever been this disrespectful to me or to anyone else that I know of. The food and beverages are always perfect, but this shift in service does not make me feel respected... And frankly speaking it resonates with the current events of our country.
