I absolutely love it! When I entered it for the first time I was surprised on how much bigger it was from the inside. It's a perfect, quiet spot, very comfy, and the shelves of books available to read are very interesting. The one which caught my attention the most was about The Rolling Stones.

Great wee cafe. Was walking by without any breakfast and thought why not as the cafe across the road was a bit pretentious. This cafe gave off friendlier vibes, and the staff were lovely. Great coffee and cakes which were ideal.

I usually go there for coffee and a short read. Staff are great. I just wish they change the music they play and put something better than that annoying playlist they play.

Extremely busy. Staff were underresourced for business levels (croke park rugby match). All tables overflowing with waste unfortunately.

I found the staff to be really friendly and welcoming compared to other locations I've visited in the city centre, give them a pay rise they've earned it :)

Hen's Teeth

06/02/2025: My wife and I got married last week at Hen's Teeth and would 100% recommend it as a venue. We had the ceremony, dinner and party all at the venue and it went seamlessly. We adored the intimate and fun vibe and we had such a blast. Food was delicious and plentiful and all staff were great. Thank you Rosie and team for the most magical day Xx
11/01/2025: We had a family wedding in Hen's Teeth in July 2024 for 80 people. Rosie was fantastic as she guided us through the planning process, from suggesting menus, wine tastings, table planning, decorating the venue and gently steering us in the right direction. Her attitude was whatever we asked for, she could make it happen, and she did. The food was tailored to meet every dietary requirement and was superb. We had one of those rare sunny days so the welcome reception was held on the outdoor area. The Hen's Teeth staff were very welcoming and made each guest feel special. The food and drink offered were really enjoyed by everyone. Hen's Teeth allowed the wedding party to DJ their own music and facilitated with a terrific sound system and equipment. The atmosphere for the whole day was relaxing and fun and we really enjoyed this unique venue with its party vibe. We were delighted that so many of our guests told us it was the best wedding and venue they had attended.

Traditional fish and chips dun laoghaire pier

14/04/2025: Teddy’s in Dún Laoghaire is a place with a special atmosphere. I tried their famous 99 cone for the first time during a walk along the pier. The soft, creamy ice cream with the classic Cadbury Flake was genuinely tasty, and the salty sea breeze made the experience even better. There’s usually a long queue, which adds to the authenticity, but sometimes you wish the service were a bit quicker. Still, there’s something nice about waiting alongside people who, just like you, came for a simple moment of joy. I appreciated that Teddy’s is more than just ice cream — it’s part of local history and culture. That said, while the taste and quality were good, they didn’t quite blow me away. Maybe it’s a matter of expectations. Overall, it’s a great spot worth returning to — especially in summer. A solid 4 stars: tasty, heartwarming, but without a wow factor.
