Irish Film Institute in Dublin

I’m kind of resident of IFI (going there once or twice a week) so probably biased. For true cinema lovers. Three screens. Good crowd and atmosphere. Screen 3 little bit shabby, armchairs are not comfortable, little space for legs so sometimes it feels like being on Ryanair flight.

Great movie selection and a lovely shop

Personally, I consider the cinema a beautiful place to go, whether it’s for a date, a night out, or simply to clear your head. Over the last 10 years, though, I’ve noticed the quality of the cinema experience declining, both in the cinemas themselves and, unfortunately, with some of the people who attend them. In a time where attention spans seem shorter than ever and basic respect for others can sometimes be lacking, this cinema was an absolute breath of fresh air. A1. 10/10. Fantastic. The prices are incredible too — a large popcorn and two drinks for around €10 is practically unheard of these days. We saw The Odyssey in 70mm, and everyone was incredibly respectful throughout the entire screening. It genuinely felt like everyone there was simply there because they love movies. I’ll definitely be back sooner rather than later. Keep it up, guys — THIS IS A CINEMA FOR TRUE MOVIE LOVERS. 🎬

Good cinema, but the exit signs are way too bright and reflect on the screen.

Beautiful setting whether a casual cinema goer or a serious buff in search of movie mecca. Stripped of the mainstream franchised cinema experience (not a bad thing either), and showing films that you could otherwise miss. The restaurant, book and film shop, Josie McAvin's actual Oscar and themed or retrospective showings... what is not to love!

Great place with such an unique experience great staff. Decent price for popcorn and drinks just should have more variety of snacks available. Easy booking online tickets highly recommend will come back soon

One of my favourite places in Dublin to have a leisurely glass, some food but above all to watch the kind of film you won't find in the standard cinema. Class.

As a film lover, I can’t recommend the Irish Film Institute enough. It’s one of my favourite places in Dublin. The atmosphere is beautiful, and they always have a carefully curated selection of films you won’t usually find in mainstream cinemas. The building also has a lovely café and a small shop with DVDs, books, and film-related gifts. I even stop by almost every month to buy Jackie Chan DVDs for my brother as a gift, which has become a little tradition of mine. If you enjoy going to the cinema regularly, their membership is definitely worth considering. It’s a fantastic place for anyone who truly loves film.

As a long-term member, I thoroughly enjoy my Friday lunch treat. I was shocked and somewhat disappointed to see the new menu excludes the cheese board. Who knows, maybe it will be reinstated. Nonetheless, the burrito and Chorizo salad was very enjoyable and I'm looking forward to trying some of the new menu. I was there to see The Last Viking which was excellent.
