Jackson's Hotel in Ballybofey-stranorlar

Highly recommended hotel with spacious and clean rooms, good service and good location. Excellent treatment.

The place is lovely. Would definitely stay again. The dinner service was slow friendly. As with most places here, the elevator is small, but the stairs were confusing so for me not a convenient bypass.

Stayed here 4 times over last few years. Staff helpful. Room was spa bath is 5 min walk from reception, up 2 lifts. Food amazing.

I was at a wedding and did not have a room but the venue for a wedding was excellent, these views from the outside area of hall where the wedding meal and after party took place. Food and service were all 5 star as was the Guinness!

Hi I just spent a week at the hotel which I enjoyed very much, the hotel was very clean and room was very comfortable with a lovely view over the river. I especially would like to thank the STAFF in every department of the hotel which can never do enough to make you happy there a credit to the hotel well done, looking forward to my return trip. Great service great rooms. I can’t swim and found myself in a bit of trouble and the handsome lifeguard saved me without hesitation. Amazing staff and can’t wait to go back for Daire 🫠.

Returned to Jackson’s to stay with my own family as I used to stay here as a child. Overall, we had a good stay but some aspects of our experience let the hotel down, and certainly made me question the 4 star rating. The first is the sign on the fridge in reception which says bottled water must be paid for by staff and guests and signed by management. This was a dreadful first impression which suggested the owners were cost cutting across the board. Sadly, I felt they were cutting costs throughout the stay. Very poor quality shower gels / soaps which weren’t local, very dated corridors and carpets and although they were replacing the carpet they were putting down the same nineties pattern which didn’t make sense to me! Heinz ketchup bottles filled with cheaper non-branded sauce, very poor quality toilet paper, and although the cooked breakfast was good, a very poor continental breakfast with what seemed like tinned fresh fruit. I was also very disappointed by the pool which was not recently renovated to my eyes despite saying so on the website. There weee cracked tiles and overall it felt very dated. Despite all this, the staff were incredible and couldn’t have been nicer. I feel sad that the owners seem to be letting them down.
