I can't say that this place is looking good. Too much red and the feeling that you are not in a restaurant, but in a bar in a red light street. They bring the wine already in the glases and never fill in in front of you. Then you never know what brand of wine you are drinking and if this is the same you ordered. We had a birthday celebration and usually staff in other places bringing a small complimentary plate with a Happy Birthday candle. But not in here. I can't say that we had a bad experience, no. But this is not the place where we come back again.

Food was beautifully cooked. Service was excellent. House wine (Sav Blanc) was really good and all at a very reasonable price. Tables are tightly knit depending where you sit, which some might find off putting. I had goats cheese starter, lamb shank and creme brulee...couldn't fault anything

Initially we had hoped to grab dinner at the Kehoes bar across from La Cave, but Kehoes doesn't serve dinner. After searching for local options, we came across La Cave, which offered an 'early bird' 3-course meal for under 39 Euros.
The entrance can be missed easily as it is a door with stairs going down to the basement, but once you're inside, you're in a French restaurant with pleasant decor.
The staff was fantastic and each dish we ordered from the 3-course menu, was perfect. This is one of those hidden gems that you can easily miss when you're looking for a place to eat, because it doesn't have a 'front' with windows to see people eat.
A perfect place for a high-quality, delicious meal.

You have to look for the entrance. Luckily we found him. There is a great living room atmosphere in the restaurant on the 1st floor. The service is extremely friendly and quick. The menu offers a nice selection of dishes. The food was super tasty and we (4 people) were totally thrilled. The restaurant is an absolute insider tip. The price-performance ratio is also absolutely fine.

Had a meal here on Sat night - was my first time - will definitely be going back.
My wife had the prawn salad to start - she said it was delicious, and so fresh. (And a decent size portion too).
I didn't have a starter. But their "bread for the table" portion was extremely generous. My only negative on the bread was that the butter was far too hard - it really should be at room temperature.
My wife had the Duck Confit à l’Orange for mains and I had the Chicken Supreme.
Both dishes were delicious.
The veg was cooked to perfection.
The only negative would be that the skin on the duck was not crispy - and was therefore far too fatty.
However, the flavours were amazing - and for that - I will definitely be returning.

Poulet supreme, Wicklow lamb chops, great wines & desserts, terrific, attentive service - all in a cozy “hidden” location. Unexpected & charming, highly recommended.

We were celebrating a birthday in la cave restaurant and had the most wonderful dining experience. The food was excellent we had goats cheese which was amazing and a great ravioli. Our waiter long was so helpful with his food and wine recommendations. The decor is fantastic and the ambience was relaxed. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to go back
