La Gordita in Dublin

We had the pleasure of trying La Gordita, and I have to say that the food and the service were top-notch. I didn't want to sit in the bar area because of my pregnancy and because it usually is not that fun. The team assured me that it was going to be comfortable. I have to say that the barman took care of us (even though I was not drinking) and engaged with us, adding to make our visit a memorable one. We really enjoyed sitting at the bar. The whole team was extremely helpful with recommendations. It was one of my favorite experiences since we arrived in Dublin. The owner, Vanessa, also passed by to say hi and check on us, which we loved.

Without a doubt, one of the best restaurants in Dublin. Incredible food, lovely staff, cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend: the anchovies with blue cheese butter on crackers, the black pudding bombitas, the open prawn omelette, the blue fin tuna tartare, the crab salad, and the aubergine crisps with sugar cane honey.

Food was delicious, high standard ingredients. The manager/waiter was super professional, explained everything and made all the difference on the dinner. Amazing will be back soon!

Want these guys to succeed, but I think they need to up the food quality or lower their prices. Food was ok, not spectacular. Seemed like most of the tapas dishes were around €18-€20, which we thought was very expensive for small plates of ok food. Total food bill for two people was c. €130, not including drinks.

I wish these guys the very best. They work very hard at being good restaurateurs. But this place is too expensive for the quality and quantity that is being served up. Small-scale restaurants like this need lots of sittings with mid-range prices (eg Gigi's in Ranelagh) in order to survive. I hope La Gordita does sustain but it will struggle in today's climate.

This restaurant is a hidden gem! 💎 The menu is Spanish tapas and the food is delicious! All dishes are cooked fresh to order. The Manager, Darren Campbell was so helpful with us choose our dishes. Really enjoyable evening. Highly recommended!
