LA GUSTOSA in Dublin

I love this Italian restaurant set idylically accross the road from the Bull Island lagoon. The lights of the city and Howth peninsula add a nice feeling. I usually get the lasagne, which is always fabulous, however this time I went for the steak. Beautiful! Cooked the way I ordered and the pepper sauce was tasty with the right amount of bite and peppercorn. My only disappointment was that it didnt come with mash or vegetables. The options were chips or salad. I chose the chips and they were great too but I had the hankering for some vegetables. Perhaps they were out of season. Still that won't stop me going back for more. Worth a visit to make up your own mind, with or without vegetables!

Lovely food , good value, just felt abit rushed by staff.

I have been to La Gustosa many times with family and friends and I am surprised by the negative reviews. I think it is a great small Italian restaurant: the pizzas are very well made (we have travelled to Italy many times and find the pizzas in La Gustosa are better than many of the pizzas you can eat abroad). The starters are lovely (my kids favour the chicken wings, my husband the delicious bruschetta and I the prawns) and the tiramisu is homemade and delicious. It's our go-to restaurant for an easy meal and the staff is always very friendly and efficient. In a city like Dublin with overpriced joints and a lot of mediocre food this is a very solid restaurant. I highly recommend it.

Excellent food, lovely atmosphere, busy Friday evening! One negative point which resulted in a very small tip was an arrogant young waiter! Will certainly go again soon and hope that the arrogant waiter is not on duty.

Charming management along with the majority of staff. Wonderful atmosphere along with excellent food! Perhaps a certain male member of staff could improve on his interpersonal and table service skills. We would however return

We went out to eat on Tuesday. We didn't have a reservation. The dark-haired waitress who greeted us helped us very quickly. It's a great place with delicious food, helpful and friendly staff, and a customer-focused approach. I will definitely recommend it. Thank you, and I will definitely return.

We went there last Thursday with my spouse. It's truly a warm and lovely place. The food and desserts were fantastic, and the service couldn't have been better. We had bruschetta, pizza, and carbonara, and we really enjoyed them. The waitress who served us was very friendly and helpful. We asked her for a few recommendations about Istanbul as well. We highly recommend this place. So yummy.

Had dinner to mark a special birthday, we live locally but haven't eaten here in a few years. Overall the food was average and not very good value for money. We had wings and bruschetta both were seriously overpriced for what we got. I had lemon sole which was a couple of fillets in a lot of tasteless sauce and chips for €30 ! We brought our own cake and were charged "cackage" first time ever to be charged considering our bill was almost €200 I think a bit of common sense should have been applied before charging this.
