Lots of food for the money and it tastes amazing! Fresh fish and got the food quickly😍

Travelled down from Celbridge just for smoked cod and chips, I was not disappointed.

The food is delicious. The frying in butter gives the cod a nice and crispy crust on the outside but remains "soft as butter" on the inside. Abundant portions.

Great place for delicious fish and chips. Very generous portions! However, the dining area is small and the tables are very close together. The restrooms were out of order.

June 17, 2026 Leo Burdock's fish & chips is a true institution in Ireland, and eating them in their historic Howth location is a truly wonderful experience, especially if you order takeout and eat them in the green park across the street (just be careful of the seagulls!). The fish is excellent, but the chips are always a little too crispy for my taste. One portion is truly filling.

We visited this restaurant during a visit to Howth. The place is nice, clean, and well-organized, with fast service and no waiting time. The portions are certainly generous: one dish is easily enough for two, especially considering the quantity served. The fish and chips, however, was a bit disappointing. The fish was decent, but the batter was quite greasy, and the chips were slightly undercooked, with cooking that could have been better. For such a distinctive dish, we expected something more refined. Only non-alcoholic beer is available. Overall, a good experience thanks to the ambiance, cleanliness, and generous portions, but the quality of the fried fish didn't live up to expectations.

The fish and chips were very tasty, the portion size was generous, and it was quite filling. The only thing I would say is that I think the mushy peas should perhaps be included in the price, but that's okay at least you get tartar sauce with it.
