Great for a stopover- no frills. Stayed here on an overnight layover, the shuttle bus from the airport was easy to find and so helpful. The hotel itself was a bit of a maze, and rooms were just ok. Clean but barely any amenities, felt like the bare minimum. For the amount I paid per night, I expected a bit more. The showers got water all over the bathroom floor because of an odd door design, hallways were noisy with kids running around and my phone rang multiple times overnight. I did really appreciate the service, though. The check-in and check-out was a breeze, the breakfast was wonderful, and room service was incredibly quick and delicious.

The staff was very attentive to our needs and questions and even offered an upgrade for our special occasion. The room was very comfortable, and quite which was surprising given the proximity to the airport. It was even close enough that after dropping off our rental car we chose to walk back to the hotel instead of waiting on the shuttle. 15 min walk tops through the airport property! We were thrilled with our stay and would recommend tis property without hesistation.

If you’re looking for a spot to be as close to the airport as possible this is definitely it. We flew into Dublin late night and had an early flight out the next morning so it was perfect for us. However if you’re thinking about staying in Dublin for a bit or roaming about town definitely pick a spot in or closer to town so that you can appreciate the city.

Anyna was an excellent server! She was very polite, friendly, and welcoming. Anyna took our orders and made sure we had all our food and drinks. She came back to the table a few more times checking in if we needed anything else. Anyna was very kind and answered any questions we had. Food was delicious and fresh, we especially like the sourdough garlic bread! Tea and coffee were also great! Food came out in a timely manner and ham and cheese toasties were perfectly warm. Thanks!

Excellent location with shuttles every 30 minutes. Didn't eat any meals at the hotel. But very clean and the King size bed was a treat after smaller beds throughout our stays in Ireland.

From the moment we arrived, the setting completely won us over — right on the lake with breathtaking views that make it so easy to unwind and switch off. The house itself is full of charm and character, with a warm, cosy atmosphere that feels truly special. Being invited for coffee and homemade cake with biscuits after checking in is a great touch. We were lucky enough to stay in the Presidential Suite, which made the experience even more memorable. The space, comfort, and stunning views were exceptional — it felt like a real treat and the perfect place to relax. What really sets Carrig apart, though, is the hospitality. The team are genuinely welcoming, attentive, and thoughtful, creating a stay that feels personal and effortless. The dining experience was a real highlight. Being welcomed into a cosy sitting room to relax and discuss the menu before being called through to dinner is such a charming, old-world touch — it made each evening feel special. The food itself was outstanding from start to finish, with top-quality ingredients and beautifully presented dishes. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with incredible food, beautiful surroundings, and truly warm hospitality, this place is a gem. Thank you to Claire, Kevin and the team for everything. We’ll definitely be back.

Callans Bar and Restaurant

17/07/2026: Hands down the best pub in Louth. The food has always been top drawer and the Guinness is even better. Cannot fault this place at all. My favourite place to eat
09/07/2026: Fantastic food, friendly but professional staff. Guiness was perfect, crack was going good for a Wednesday evening. All in all an excellent spot!
