Mandarin Castle in Dublin

Very disappointed with our experience. We were told the waiting time would be 45 minutes, but ended up waiting over 2 hours for our order. When the food finally arrived, the order was completely mixed up. We ordered two prawn curries, but instead received three duck dishes and only one prawn dish. This was especially frustrating as two people in our group don’t eat meat at all, so they had to share one dish. The order was over €70, yet there were no prawn crackers, no apology items, and nothing complimentary added. Given the long delay and mistakes, this was very disappointing. Overall, poor service and lack of care. We won’t be ordering again.

Ordered 3 takaways from here and food was amazing. Delivery was very quick too. My compliments to the chefs and the owner.

My son and I shared a meal here last week. It was delicious food.now the only thing… The fillet beef (€24! was very lacking on texture . Just strange and gangily (If you get me) I felt over soaked/over softened. No bite. Now in fairness I give 5 stars. This meal was replaced with no question, with a very tasty chicken dish. The atmosphere is lovely. The staff are very nice. The spare ribs were Devine. Great satay sauce ( the mark of a great Chinese restaurant in my book) Noodles DEVINE! Smoked chicken starter was George. We got a side order of broccoli and this was THE MOST DELICIOUS broccoli I’ve ever tasted. I’d go back just for that. It was €100 with a pot of China tea and two soft drinks. So the drinks + 2 starters 2 mains Noodles Rice Side dish of veg. Well worth €50 each with a nice takeaway for my son to have the next day. We loved this place and will go back. QUESTION; Why do so many oriental restaurants ruin their fillets of beef with soaking/swelling/ softening. I’ve yet to have a decent bite friendly beef black bean! Anyway everything else was superb. I highly recommend ♥️
