Absolutely fantastic looking place. Outdoor (covered) area is amazing with big screens and heating out the back. Dog friendly. Food is average to be honest with a few highlights. Onion rings are good. Has huge potential.

Oh dear, lovely staff. Really slow kitchen service 90mins for a fry….and bits don’t arrive ..ah well . but Lukas the manager was outstanding made everything ok, gave a refund and was just a great bloke. They had a messed up delivery and that slowed things down. An example of how to look after customers . Good man Lukas

Fantastic return to Donnybrook. The refurbishment is great. We had dinner for 12 people followed by cigars in the amazing smoking area. Friendly service, good food and great fun.

From the moment I walked into McCloskey’s, I felt genuinely welcome. Lucas, the bar manager, poured a truly lovely pint and made the whole experience feel personal and relaxed. Cormac the bar man also made me a lively “spice bag margarita” a thrilling twist on an old classic. Jack the lounge boy also was attentive at clearing my glasses. The atmosphere was unreal — warm, lively, and exactly what you want from a great local pub. Definitely a place I’ll be back to.

10/03/2026: Very good fish and chips here. I was happy with this selection as it was some of the best dm fish I have had to this point. It was cooked perfectly and was gluten free. I would recommend this dish to anyone looking for something good to eat. I also enjoyed a cider and I had a local beer called 5 lamps. Both were good.
10/03/2026: We found this place at the last minute for dinner last night. It was the shortest walk from our hotel - Hyatt Centric. It worked out wonderfully for our entire group. We ordered fish and chips because it was gluten free. It was delicious!!!! The batter on the fish, texture was crispy and fresh. Love their 🍟 fries!!! It was definitely tasty and I liked the way it was cut, almost like steak fries cut but a groove in the middle to balance out the weight. The tartar sauce served with fish and chips was the right balance of spices. Our servers were extremely friendly and efficient with what their services. Tip: they do serve tap water, just gotta know to ask for it.
