Mekong in Mullingar

We ate here twice in a 2 week trip to that midlands. Enjoyed the dine in experience, fast service, clean tables and friendly staff. Food was fresh and HOT! Lots of vegetarian options appreciated. Also had a good experience with take away. Have lived in NYC for years and this is comparable!

My favorite Asian street food restaurant. Service is quick. Food is amazing. Really relaxed casual atmosphere. Prefect place to pop in before a night out. Also a great place to bring kids

Great food service good happy atmosphere

We visited the restaurant today because of the very positive reviews. Service was very friendly and quick. Apple juice is freshly prepared (awesome). Unfortunately we had no luck with the food. Neither the duck nor the beef was crispy (despite being titled "Chrispy"). Rather fat and chewy. Unfortunately, the taste wasn't anything special either. We would give the food a maximum of two stars. Maybe the kitchen was staffed differently today.

We almost walked past, the amazing aroma drew us in. The place is simply decorated, trestle tables and benches. The food speaks for itself. We had fire cracker chicken and crispy chilli beef, both were delicious, fresh crunchy vegetables, tender meat and great rice and noodles. Service was excellent. Can't wait to go back. I've since learnt they do lunchtime specials.

It was our first time visiting Mekong, what a delight, great service and great food. We only tried two dishes off the menu, Firecracker chicken and crispy chilli beef. In both cases they were fresh, zingy and full of flavour. No gloopy sauces, just fresh and flavoursome. The crispy beef was nicely spicy and the firecracker lived up to it's name. Nice to have some food with a bit of heat to it, too many times dishes are labelled as spicy but barely tickle the tongue. Would happily go back. Service was, quick and attentive.

Such good food every single time and run by a great team.

Food was grand, inside the atmosphere was nice and we also couldn’t believe how busy this place was with takeaway orders, which is always a good sign
