Although the lake should be a beautiful draw the town seems pretty quiet overall but this place with its friendly staff served fine Guinness and excellent food, had a steak perfectly cooked with gorgeous mash, broccoli and onions. Can really recommend!

Warmth, Welcome, and Wonderful Food at The Old Coach Inn
What a fantastic pub and restaurant—The Old Coach Inn is everything Irish hospitality is known for and more! Raymond and his amazing team truly went above and beyond to welcome us to Castleblayney.
We arrived in town early, before our accommodation was ready, and it was absolutely no trouble at all to settle in at The Old Coach Inn. We enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch and spent a relaxed afternoon soaking up the warm, friendly atmosphere. The place was full of families celebrating their children’s First Communion, and it was clear that this lovely spot is right at the heart of the community.
Raymond was even kind enough to help us get to our accommodation afterwards—something we’ll never forget. We couldn’t wait to return the next day, and were treated to a fantastic evening meal. The menu had something for everyone, and the staff were so attentive and friendly.
We only wish we’d had time to complete the triple and come back for breakfast! If you’re in Castleblayney, The Old Coach Inn is an absolute must. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

We had such a lovely experience at The Old Coach Inn in Castleblayney. Irish hospitality is renowned, but Raymond and his team really take it to the next level. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel so welcome.
We got into town a bit earlier than expected and had some time to fill before checking into our accommodation. No problem at all—Raymond invited us to relax and enjoy a leisurely Sunday lunch, and what a lunch it was! Delicious food, a warm and lively atmosphere, and a real sense of community. Families were celebrating their children’s First Communion and it was just lovely to witness—The Old Coach Inn clearly plays a big part in local life.
Raymond even went out of his way to help us get to our accommodation, which was such a kind and unexpected gesture.
We enjoyed it so much we came back the next day for an evening meal, which was just as impressive. The menu had something for everyone, and the staff were so friendly and attentive.
Our only regret? Not having time to return for breakfast and complete the trio! If you're in or near Castleblayney, don’t miss this place. A warm welcome, great food, and a real local gem.

Really attentive staff, lovely restaurant, good food and great value. T Bone steak for €20 as a special. My daughters new favourite is the hunters chicken which they want to make at home now! Thanks for a lovely evening
