I've been to Peter's Pub quite a few times now, and every time it feels like every other pub in Dublin is completely packed, I always end up there again, either at the beginning or end of my trip.
And the crazy thing is: I've ALWAYS been able to get a seat there. No matter what time it is. I don't know if it's Irish magic or just divine timing.
Plus, they serve a really delicious Guinness and the atmosphere is relaxed, without all the tourist chaos.
But the best thing is sitting outside by the barrels. You can sit there, relax, drink your Guinness, and watch the lost souls who've had 14 pints too many and are now trying to argue with a trash can. A truly quintessential Dublin experience.
For me, it's definitely the number one pub in Dublin.

The locals locale but also good as a traveler for the quality and selection of pints. The staff are helpful and friendly and will throw out rowdy drunks while tapping a Guinness. Their published menu prices are not always what is charged for whiskey pours, apparently haven’t had time to update their menu… ok. But fine for a good pint.

A traditional pub where all ages and social classes mingle. Affordable prices, friendly waitress but not very smiley waiter, and above all, no background music...

We visited several times in a row during our stay in Dublin and were absolutely satisfied each time. Whether it was the soup and sandwich at lunchtime or the first Guinness shortly after arrival, it was simply top-notch. The staff were always friendly.

Love this pub. Great view of the people who wait ages in line for an average pizza. The quality of the pints are amazing and service is fab as well. Will definitely be back!

Nice, quiet pub. We stopped for a drink and when we asked for the drinks menu, we were told, "We don't have a drinks menu." So, we ordered two beers, a Guinness and a Rockshore. We paid almost €16. If I'd known a beer was that expensive, I probably would have ordered something else. But since there wasn't a menu with prices, I couldn't have known!
