14/02/2025: What a lovely little pub with a really friendly owner. Went to see the Phil Lynott statue and it was pouring down. Pub hadn't quite opened but we were welcomed in and had a great pint of Guinness and looked after. Also got given a couple of Guinness T Shirts. What Ireland is all about. Reminds me of folk in my home town of Liverpool. Nice to be nice.
10/02/2025: McDaid’s Pub has always been a favourite of ours, since the 1980’s, when we used to frequent it regularly. Now, although now no living in Dublin anyway, it is still my favourite meeting up point when myself and our ‘slightly more mature Girlie Gang’ catch up. So, we spent a most enjoyable couple of drinks there last Saturday afternoon, enjoying chat and watching the Rugby. We then moved on to a local restaurant for some dinner and it wasn’t until I went to pay the bill that I realised my purse was not in my bag! My last recollection of having it was when I paid for drinks in McDaids, earlier that evening. Not realising that I had mistakenly left in on the counter after paying for the drinks, I had NO hope or expectation of recovering it. However, I took the chance to return to McDaid’s that night and to my delight, the lovely Barman had kept it behind the counter for me for safe keeping! I was SO relieved, as EVERYTHING, cash, cards, Luas ticket, ID, etc was contained in it! I just wanted to express my sincere appreciation to McDaid’s and it’s wonderful, efficient and HONEST staff, for retrieving and keeping my wallet for me and ensuring its safe return. McDaids now definitely continues to be our FAVORITE Pub in Dublin, for its atmosphere, staff, ambience and HONESTY! Thanks a Million Guys!
