Omg. From the first minute we stepped inside we were treated like royalty. Nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation the food and the service was excellent. They grow and use their own products. Our bedroom was in the main house. Outstanding. Had a wee look around the grounds and the Spa, Wellness house. So tranquil and lovely. Will definitely be back and thank you for making our time there so special.

We attended Rockhill House & Spa today as a group of 8 for a baby shower. There were definitely parts of the experience we really enjoyed, but unfortunately the spa side of the day didn’t feel worth the price we paid.
To start with, we had booked a few months in advance and were originally quoted one price, only to be told the night before when paying the balance that the total had increased by almost €100 due to a staff error. While mistakes happen, it wasn’t the nicest surprise so close to the booking.
The package cost us €90 each for afternoon tea and access to the thermal suite. In my opinion, the afternoon tea itself was absolutely worth the €39.50, but the additional €50+ for the spa facilities unfortunately was not.
The thermal suite was extremely overcrowded, there were 20 people using it at one point. One outdoor hot tub was completely out of order and the other one was cold and couldn’t be heated properly and the jets didn’t work properly, meaning the small indoor pool was the only warm water option for such a large number of people.
When we raised the issue about the hot tubs with spa staff, they were quite short with us rather than helpful or apologetic, which added to the frustration.
There were also a few smaller issues that you wouldn’t expect at a spa at this price point. One of us was served an out-of-date can of West Coast Cooler Rosé (€7), and when I went to shower after my treatment, the shampoo, conditioner and body wash were all empty. Reception kindly gave me shampoo and conditioner, but said they had no body wash available in the spa.
There was also confusion around drinks payments. I paid for our drinks when leaving the spa, but another group from our party who left afterwards were told their drinks were “on the house.” When I queried this, nobody could really explain why.
That being said, the treatments themselves were excellent. My massage with Melanie was genuinely amazing and probably the highlight of the day. The afternoon tea was also lovely, plenty of food, beautifully presented, and the staff in the house were all friendly and helpful.
Overall, there were some really lovely parts to the experience, but for the price paid, the spa facilities and organisation did not meet expectations.

This is such a beautiful relaxing place. We loved staying in a place with such history - and nice to see the hotel owned by a local business family, with a vision to restore such a beautiful estate property. Felt privileged to have stayed!! The receptionist was very friendly, welcoming and professional. The food at the Church restaurant was delicious! The panna cota dessert is to die for! Couldn’t resist popping up drone for a couple of photos! (Hope they don’t mind!!)

I went for afternoon tea and time at the wellness center as did my wife.
The owner, Mr, Molloy is a class individual and was most gracious and hospitable and made us feel immediately welcomed.
His family have spent considerable time, effort, and money remodeling and it’s come out incredibly. The spa facilities are amazing - outdoor and indoor - as are the staff.
I’ll definitely be back next time in Co Donegal area.
