Amazing food, cocktails and excellent staff

From viewing the sample menu online I wasn’t sure if there wouldn’t be much I’d enjoy but I couldn’t have been more wrong. The food was delicious. With additional complementary starters and sorbets given to each table. The desert, a new addition, was divine. We had to change the timing on our booking last minute and James was very accommodating, and super welcoming when we arrived. All the staff were very friendly. There was no rush between courses. One of our drinks, a beer, came warm, and we asked for ice, the staff member realised why we wanted ice and identified the fridge had just been restocked and replaced the drink which was then complementary, just the little things that make the service stand out. The atmosphere is brilliant, beautiful decor, lovely lighting with music at the perfect volume. From not having a huge amount of interest to going initially, I know will certainly be back.

These guys need a visit from a certain tyre manufacturer.

Lovely food and very attentive staff. Three course menu with several options, including vegetarian and vegan. Really nice wines. Visited twice thanks to Christmas parties and really enjoyed the experience.

We had a most wonderful dinning experience today. We had a warm, welcome from the manager who was very friendly and attentive, then we had a lovely young lady to help us with the menu and she was a great ambassador for the menu and the restaurant. Our highest compliments go to the chef for the food as it was delicious. The roast beef dinner was the best I ever tasted, well seasoned, cooked to perfection and very homely. We will definitely return again soon and keep up the good work.

Absolutely lovely spot for Sunday lunch. Great selection of starters and mains. The beef was perfectly cooked!! I will be back for sure!!! EDIT (4 months later - Oct 2023): I was back to Rugged Lane last night. This time with 29 guests celebrating my birthday (a roundy one!). James Sheridan and his team far exceeded my high expectations for the night. The meal was nothing short of exquisite in every way, and James' team is so service- focused. My guests were amazed at the quality of the food, the service, the ambiance, the location - it was simply the best way to celebrate my significant birthday. A big THANK YOU to James, Daniel, and the team for a most memorable evening for me and for my guests. And James, I will be back for a pint and a bite soon ;-)

We have eaten at Rugged Lane many times now and the food has always been delicious. The services is also excellent. The staff are really well trained and explain each of the dishes to the guests, there's lots of delightful extras from the chef throughout the meal and the Manager is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. They have a nice selection of wine and brandy and the atmosphere is relaxing and quiet, overlooking the Luttrelstown Golf Course. Although it is a little pricey, you certainly get value for money and go home feeling full! It is fine dining but the portion sizes are really generous. The sticky toffee pudding is to die for. The bread and butter, while something so simple, will make you want to go back just for this I guarantee it! We always come away feeling happy from this place, it's a gem nestled away on such beautiful grounds. Nothing less than 5 starts for Rugged Lane.
