A nice spot to head for pints after work or to watch a match. It has both the inside and covered outside area that offer different settings.

It was really busy but despite this Andrew our barman was amazing offering great friendly service to us. Went out of his way to source my tipple Dry Martini as it was not available in the upstairs bar a real 5 star approach . It is great to have such wonderful service

I don't normally leave reviews. Went in here with my son before a game at the Aviva yesterday. After going into the front bar the manager told me there were seats upstairs and would probably be quieter. He walked us up to the bar upstairs. I just thought it was a very kind thing to do, and he didn't have to on a busy match day, so well done. Definitely be back before the next football match at the Aviva.

Early dinner, ordered steak sandwich without mushrooms and portion of nachos. Nachos very good, sandwich came with mushrooms and they didn't come back to check if everything was ok. However they were very good and removed the dish from the bill. Not many people in, so no real vibe probably as a wednesday evening.

Mullingar House

23/03/2026: Staying with work in The West County Hotel and went for walk in Phoenix Park. Called in here for bite to eat and a drink on way back. first thing that strikes you is the interior is really nice and the pub has real character. Food was excellent with an extensive menu and staff were just nice people. Will definitely be back and would strongly recommend it. It's outside appearance doesn't prepare you for how nice it is inside.
21/03/2026: The incredible historical depth and the remarkably cozy atmosphere of this premier traditional pub in the heart of Chapelizod make it an absolutely spectacular destination for anyone who values authentic Irish hospitality and literary heritage in Dublin. I spent a long time enjoying a perfectly poured pint and exploring the classic wooden interior because the general energy of the building is very inviting and every single corner offers a level of vintage charm that is remarkably consistent with the high standards of historic Dublin establishments. I really loved the professional kindness of the local bartenders and the thoughtful preservation of the Joyce related memorabilia because the balance of the old world tradition and the friendly community vibe is truly impressive and it provides a satisfying and rewarding experience for every visitor. The facility is maintained with a great sense of local pride and I noticed that the environment remains respectful and warm for families looking for a relaxing meal after a long walk through the nearby Phoenix Park grounds. It is a must visit for any resident or traveler who appreciates a well managed independent pub where the quality of the service is a main priority and the surrounding views of the Liffey river add a layer of natural beauty to the entire visit. I also appreciated the clean organization of the seating areas and the general sense of warmth within the lounge because it encourages a relaxed and mindful appreciation of the local pub culture while soaking in the vibrant charm of the Dublin landscape. Even though it is a popular spot for weekend regulars the organization of the service is executed with such care that you always feel like a valued guest during your stay. I will definitely be returning here soon for another evening because the combination of the prime location and the unbeatable historical profile is truly a highlight of the local neighborhood scene.
