Tankardstown House in

This is an underestinated wedding venue. One of the most amazing places I have went to in ireland for a wedding.

We got married at Tankardstown House in March 2025 and what can we say, it was a dream from beginning to end. The setting is breathtaking, the food is outstanding, and the staff went above and beyond to make everything perfect (shoutout to Fran). From the moment we arrived, we felt so well looked after, nothing was ever too much trouble. The team made the entire planning process feel effortless, and on the day itself, everything ran like clockwork. It truly felt like a fairytale, and we couldn’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else. Our guests raved about the beautiful on site accommodation as well!

Wonderful meal at Brabazon Restaurant in lovely settings with log fire burning. We went for the a la carte; I had the halibut and my companion the pork which were perfect. We both had the blackberry souffle which was superb and in itself worth travelling for. Wines and service were excellent. Thank you.

I am so thrilled to be writing this review for Tankardstown House. As an American bride, much of the wedding planning process was done from afar, and nearly everything was a sight unseen kind of deal. Before our big day, we had never step foot on the property and our wedding planner, Annie Byrne, was kind enough to step in a do a tasting with Tankardstown on our behalf. Needless to say, I was a little nervous not knowing what to expect when we showed up for our big day, but any expectations I had were blown clean out of the water when we arrived. Stepping onto the grounds of Tankardstown House truly feels like stepping into a fairytale. Everyone could not stop raving about the grounds, the venue, the accommodations, the staff, the list goes on and on. Leading up to the big day, the wedding planning staff (shout out to Gemma) was so warm and communicative and willing to go above and beyond. Their efforts on our wedding day were no less impressive. From start to finish, we truly had a perfect wedding and it was due, in large part, to the staff at Tankardstown. The food was incredible, the wait staff were lovely and attentive, and everyone made us and our guests feel so special. I truly could go on and on in this review, but I’ll just say that if you get a chance to have your wedding here, you will not regret it. Thank you again to everyone who helped make our day so special, we will certainly be back for a visit as soon as we can!!

WEDDING CELEBRANT PERSPECTIVE I have the pleasure of regularly going to Tankardstown House to conduct Humanist wedding ceremonies. The venue is stunning - no matter the weather. The staff are SO friendly that it is a joy to turn up on the day. I've also had the pleasure of attending as a guest for a family wedding a few years ago & we are still talking about how lovely & memorable it was. Cannot sing their praises enough. The whole experience from start to finish was sensational. The food was absolutely fantastic, however a few issues, none of the rooms had toothpaste, and the bar staff charged you 5+ times as the machines kept saying declined despite actively been charged on Revolut.

Absolutely a great spot. We had our winter wedding out there. It is a truly lovely house with great staff & amazing food, it really is first class. Its also well worth a visit for a lunch or meal.

If you are ever wondering if perfection is possible, Tankardstown House answers with a resounding yes. Every single detail — from the house itself to the food, location, drinks, and accommodations — is magic. But it's the staff that make every experience here unforgettable. We were so blessed to have our wedding here in July, and it made every last one of our dreams come true. All of our guests raved about our time there, and the service was at the center of every great experience. We can't thank Fran, Tommy, Abby, Aine, Gemma, and the countless other restaurant, house, and housekeeping staff enough. They aren't just excellent at their jobs — they are kind, genuine, professional, and made us feel incredibly special. Tankardstown House is an absolute gem, and we can't wait to pay them a visit again (hopefully very soon!)
