Terry's Bar in Monaghan

21/02/2025: A great dining experience. Excellent food, attentive service. A lovely complimentary mini desert sent us home smiling. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

16/02/2025: We went as a group of 4 on a Saturday at 6pm - and while we had made a reservation in advance by phone, it seems that (at least when we were there) the custom was that there was a wait on arrival. Now while I will admit this wait - at least this weekend - was super long (40+ mins) I honesty cannot begin to explain how worth that wait was once we got seated. Service was excellent (all the young staff were amazing, and attentive), and the food came out hot and fresh. Honestly couldn’t recommend it enough. The place was BUSTLING and tables were jammed. Poppadoms come out almost straight away after you sit down. I had the butter chicken and it was whopper, and the garlic bread was fluffy and fresh. The rice isn’t a massive portion - so if you’re super hungry get a full one instead of halfing it with someone else. We had a mixed platter of meats to start and that was also delicious. So I guess - possibly prepare for a wait when you arrive if it’s evening on a Saturday, I’m not sure what’s standard or if it was a mad weekend for them - but either way, would go again if in town. Great to see a restaurant so busy. Would recommend the host communicates the wait when people arrive though - or brings in a new reservation process! :)
